April 29, 2014 - Tuesday

This is Oliver, my house guest for a week. He's a little skittish and I was a little worried how he would handle being away from home, but he's been so calm and relaxed all evening. It's kinda nice to have a couple of dogs, even if it's just for a little while.

April 28, 2014 - Monday

Grace likes hanging out on the patio. That planter used to have rosemary until Zeke and Shadow started eating the dirt out of the pot. I have a friend coming over in a couple of weeks to help me make my patio presentable. It need a woman's touch for sure.

April 27, 2014 - Sunday

I was on my feet a lot today. I started by taking Grace for a walk and then putting some weed and feed on the yard. I did some vacuuming and laundry. I cleaned the kitchen and then made this salad with grapes and strawberries and the Greek Chicken Pasta. I have lunch and dinner for the week.

April 26, 2014 - Saturday

If you've seen my pics in the past year you know where this is going. I got home kinda late after having dinner with a couple of friends. I got all the stuff out to make the Greek Chicken Pasta salad, but then I decided I was too tired and put it all away for tomorrow.

April 25, 2014 - Friday

I went to pick up Riley from her mom's to go see a show. This was growing by the pond behind her place. I don't know what this is but there was also one that hadn't bloomed yet. It looked like a giant purple, pointy paint brush. It was almost my pic of the day.

April 24, 2014 - Thursday

I got home late, took Grace for a long walk and came and relaxed on my couch for a bit. I downloaded this app for my iPad a while back and it has some really great content and a pretty cool design. This was my bedtime reading material.

April 23, 2014 - Wednesday

The other day I was at a friend's house and my car got covered in bird poo. We're not too busy at work today so at lunch I went to get my car washed. No more poo. Later in the afternoon a few of us at the office went out to Paciugo. This should help me get through the rest of the day.

April 22, 2014 - Tuesday

A friend gave me this for a birthday or Christmas present a bunch of years ago. At the time I thought it was a strange gift for a guy. I thought maybe she wanted me to think of her every time the wind blew. Some days are windier than others, but it blows everyday.

April 21, 2014 - Monday

After work I went home and picked up Grace and we went to do some grocery shopping for both of us. She needed food or the poor little baby would have starved. Took this on our way back home.

April 20, 2014 - Sunday

I got up really early after not sleeping very well and drove out to my brother's for our family's Easter get together. After eating we spent some time on the patio. They just bought a bunch of flowers and herbs to plant. My brother usually has a big garden full of vegetables.

April 19, 2014 - Saturday

After spending the day working around the house and the evening hanging out with a friend, I had to come home and reset my alarm. My crazy family wants to have a Family Easter Breakfast at 8:30 in the morning an hour from my house. I told them Jesus didn't rise that early. No blasphemy intended.

Growing up my dad was strict, but he also knew when to break the rules. I remember as a little kid, on more than one occasion, all of us would be awake later than we were supposed to be and he would take us all to get an ice cream or something. We'd eat in their bed and then finally we'd go to bed ourselves.

The person in this car parks their car like this almost every day. Granted the spaces there are really tight, but seriously, these spots are closest to the building. I may have to get some sidewalk chalk to make "special" parking lines.

April 16, 2014 - Wednesday

I went to meet a friend at one of our favorite Greek places. The food there is so good but the green beans stand out like this thing growing on their patio. I know it's just green beans but wow. There's some kind of magic in them.

My new cards came in the mail. It's been a while since I've had one of these. The "affordable" in Affordable Care Act is all very very relative.

I have a Man Cold and don't have anyone to pat me on the head and say, "Poor Little Bunny." Life sucks.

This is a first for me, a Guest Photo of the Day! The friend I went to visit Friday sent me this. Almost none of her flowers were blooming the other night. I'm coming down with something and spent most of the day on the couch so it was nice to have someone fill in for me. Thank you Riki.

"This is my family. I found it all on my own. It's little and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good." I don't know why this line from the end of Lilo and Stitch popped into my head when I saw this pic. On a separate note, my baby changes her hair about as often as Texas' weather. She's so adorable.

I went to visit a friend in Ft. Worth. We sat on her patio. It's like a little paradise in her back yard. She has a couple of humming bird feeders and all kinds of plants and flowers that she knows the names of. She said I should come back when they're blooming. She's going to help me with my patio.

Last night after having dinner with a friend I pulled into my garage and as I was walking around my car I heard a small "thunk" on the hood of my car. I turned and saw this. It's about the size of a quarter. The first thing that crossed my mind is, "What if it landed on my head?"

This is growing in my front yard. I stopped to take a picture when I took Grace out this afternoon. There's a little guy spider-bombing my photo. Though I think that's his backside, so maybe I'm being spider-mooned.

April 8, 2014 - Tuesday

This goldern girl is Lola. She lives down the street and they both start whining when they see each other. The jump on each other and lick each other's face. It's funny to see Grace get so excited and playful. She's always so calm at home.

Now here's something I don't see to often in my neighborhood. I wish I could have gotten a picture of this when it was flying a little lower. It looked pretty big. I hope somebody doesn't have a small dog or cat outside.

I love that by the time I make something for the third or fourth time I have it down pretty good. This fritata with a crispy potato crust is so easy and good. I wish I had more natural light in my kitchen.

Fortunately there was a break in the rain this evening to take Grace for a walk. As we were walking through the neighborhood and I was looking at the sky I realized there are a lot of houses with TV antennas on them. I thought it was odd but then who's going to go through the trouble to take them down.

I finished my latest project. My sister says it's like an amphitheater for your phone, and she's pretty much right. The acoustics are better than I thought they would be. I keep it on my headboard and listen to it when I go to sleep. I have the perfect playlist to go to sleep to.

Around this time last year I found these on sale at Lowe's. I was beginning to worry that they might not have survived the winter. There are a lot of these in my neighborhood and they've had leaves for a while now. Mine are finally showing signs of life.

It's that time of year again. The weather is warmer and cold pasta salads are appetizing. I made this last night after Grace and I went to the grocery store. This Greek Pasta Salad has been my picture of the day more than once and I can't thank my friend enough for showing me this one.
