December 30, 2014 - Tuesday

We've been exposing Alexe to all kinds of new foods. I made Migas this morning for them. I don't make them very often so they're not as good as my sister's but she did like them with ketchup. She seems to like ketchup on lots of her food.

December 29, 2014 - Monday

Riley and Alexe went out to dinner with her mom. I had to go into the office for the later part of the afternoon. I went out to meet a friend for dinner that I haven't seen in a long time. She said she was trying to eat healthy but wanted to order these. I didn't complain one bit.

December 28, 2014 - Sunday

We had the family over for a Menudo breakfast. I started having these back when my arthritis was really bad. They would come and do my yard work for me and I would make something to eat. It was so fun that once my arthritis was under control I still kept doing them. Our Canadian guest is not a fan of menudo.

December 27, 2014 - Saturday

We went shopping for stuff for our big family breakfast tomorrow. Alexe wanted grape Fanta. I don't know if I've ever tried it but I did today. It tastes like you let a purple Freezer Pop melt.

December 26, 2014 - Friday

Riley drove us to Jake's for dinner. She has forgotten how to park a car since she's been gone. She wasn't really good at it anyway. Alexe said she wants to come back to this place. She likes burgers. I think we're going to have to take her to Keller's next.

December 25, 2014 - Thursday

Riley and Alexe are spending the day with Riley's mom. I was watching A Christmas Story and decided to get my own Chinese dinner after the Bumpus' dogs came in a ruined the Christmas dinner I was preparing. Apparently I wasn't the only one. This place was as busy as the tamale place I went to yesterday.

December 24, 2014 - Wednesday

This is Paisley, my niece's pet pig. You never know what's gonna happen at our Christmas get together. I wonder what Grace would think of her. I love spending time with my whole family. Spending time with all of them at Christmas is just that much more special.

December 23, 2014 - Tuesday

I got out of work early and met up with the girls to finish our Christmas shopping. When we got home it felt kinda cold in the house. It was so nice having a fire the other night I thought it would be nice to have another.

December 22, 2014 - Monday

I was walking out of the office after work. It was a beautiful sunset and the reflection on the south side of our building I thought looked really interesting.

December 21, 2014 - Sunday

I made stew tonight. I asked Alexe if she liked stew. She didn't know what it was until I made it. She says her grandmother makes something like this. It's called ragoút. I asked her if she liked mine better than her grandmother's and she just laughed.

December 20, 2014 - Saturday

We have a guest from Canada staying with us for the Holidays. I picked up stuff to make biscuits and gravy. She didn't know what biscuits were. "Like English Muffins?" Uh, no. "Is gravy like brown sauce?' Uh, no again. But she says it all with a French accent. She's so pretty.

December 19, 2014 - Friday

I waited until Riley got back to town to buy a Christmas tree. They got in late last night so after work we all went out to dinner and then picked up a tree. They decorated the tree while I built a fire. I know it wasn't really cold enough but it was nice to have one while listening to Christmas music.

December 18, 2014 - Thursday

Riley is home for the holidays. We went straight from the airport to Whataburger. She also wants to go to Keller's and Jake's. Thankfully not tonight. We were stuck in traffic for a long while on 635 coming home so I think that just added to the anticipation.

December 17, 2014 - Wednesday

I took Grace for a walk this morning and noticed this down the street. I guess the yard guys finished this yard just a few minutes ago because the wind is blowing this way and this distinct line is still there. I should take a picture when I get home.

December 16, 2014 - Tuesday

I've been thinking about street tacos for the last couple of days. There's a taqueria not too far from my house but I went to the grocery store instead and made breakfast tacos for dinner. The Kroger by my house sells tortillas that are made in store and they're pretty good.

December 15, 2014 - Monday

I think my poor Grace had a loose screw that has fallen out. She was lying in her bed and a minute later I walked by and this was in the middle of her bed. I wonder how many more loose screws she has. I don't know whether to take her to the vet or a mechanic.

December 14, 2014 - Sunday

I was FaceTiming with Riley and she was telling me how cold and snowy it is there. I showed her all the leaves on the ground here. It rained off and on at my house and though this isn't the clearest picture, I do like the colors in the background.

December 13, 2014 - Saturday

Today was a lazy day for me. Though I did get a call from my boss early this morning and had to go in for just a little while. I was able to make it back home just in time for my nap. I didn't feel like cooking either so I made my way out back to get dinner.

December 12, 2014 - Friday

Our agency had our Christmas Happy Hour. We went bowling and drinking. There was food too. I bowled left handed to give these guy a break.

December 11, 2014 - Thursday

I took my microwave to Riley. Figured she needed it more than I did. Then tonight I had some leftovers to heat up for a quick dinner. I had to to do it old school with a sauce pan. It took more than a few seconds but the end result was so much better than nuking it.

December 10, 2014 - Wednesday

The last two times I took these to work I lost my job. I am determined to prove that I am not cursed. That and the girl at work asked for them for her b-day tomorrow. I guess I'll know by this time tomorrow whether the curse is broken or not.

December 9, 2014 - Tuesday

Went to get my hair cut today at lunch. I wanted to get my hair cut before my trip but could work it out. I had all these shaggy piles around me. Look at all that gray! I said that to the girl that cuts my hair. Her response, "At least you have hair." Touché.

December 8, 2014 - Monday

The account service girl that works with us has a famous grandmother. Famous and beautiful. One of her movies was on TCM the other night. It's a Christmas movie called "It Happened on 5th Avenue." It's a cute movie. Very much like a lot of the movies made back then.

I think my baby is happy to be home and is loving sleeping in her own bed.

December 6, 2014 - Saturday

I went out to my parent's house to go pick up Grace. She is usually so calm, but she was so excited to see me and practically dragged me to the car. Barkley came up to say good bye and I got this close up of him.

December 5, 2014 - Friday

At this time of the year the sun reflects off the building behind me and shines right on my desk. I turned to take the picture and my camera was still set for last night's photo. This ended up being more interesting than the photos I took after.

Went to drop off some stuff at a friend's place. Visited for just a little while. I came out and saw this.

December 3, 2014 - Wednesday

I almost forgot to take a picture today. I was pretty busy at work getting back into the grove and getting caught up. Apparently they missed me. Had dinner with a friend that I haven't seen in a long while. This guy just wanted a little time on the couch.

This is the part where I ride into the sunset. I'm not a cowboy so I took a plane back home.

December 1, 2014 - Monday

We spent the whole day out. Shawarma for lunch, a bit of shopping for a coat for Riley, found a cigar shop (yay, me!), a couple of drinks by a nice cozy fire in an Irish pub, then lots of walking to a great pizza place. A long day, my feet were killing me, but a great last day with Riley. And it snowed!!!
