January 30, 2014 - Thursday

I came across an article on 30 day challenges. So in addition to my year long goal of not missing a day taking a photo I'm not drinking any more Cokes after this one. I don't drink but maybe one or two a week as it is so this one shouldn't be too difficult.

January 29, 2014 - Wednesday

I went to take a picture of the next building being demolished across the street then this little guy came running into frame. A photobomb of sorts. Fortunately he stopped long enough for me to get a decent shot of him.

January 28, 2014 - Tuesday

A friend invited me over for dinner and asked if I'd pick up a few things. We get asked a lot about being friends. I guess because we're both single and she's so cute. Honestly she'd probably be out of my league if I weren't so charming. I picked these up for her while I was at the store just because she's really cool.

January 27, 2014 - Monday

I bought these socks for my trip to Colorado thinking it was going to be really cold. I actually have a few pairs. They have become my favorites. And yes that is a piece of Grace's fur on the side. Or, I guess, it could be one of mine. I have a few gray hairs too.

January 26, 2014 - Sunday

I drove out to see my parents. I spent some time out in the garage with my dad and uncles. They're refinishing some antique furniture they restored. It's really great to see their craftsmanship. They're some pretty talented old guys. I took this on the way home.

January 25, 2014 - Saturday

I spent the day shopping with a friend. We ended the afternoon with a very late lunch, lots of interesting conversation and a delicious chocolate chip skillet cookie in downtown Plano. We recovered from it all on the couch watching a movie.

January 24, 2014 - Friday

I did a bunch of stuff today and had a handful of pics to choose from, and I know she was here yesterday too, but this really was the best picture I took today.

January 23, 2014 - Thursday

Grace has been so resistant to get on the couch, even when I invite her. Over the last couple of days I've taught her that relaxing on the couch isn't so bad after all. I especially don't mind it now that her shedding is no longer an issue.

January 22, 2014 - Wednesday

My poor little baby sister. She must be a popsicle by now. She sent me a video yesterday of her walking a dog she's babysitting. The little guy has a broken leg and you could barely see his cast because of all the snow.

January 21, 2014 - Tuesday

Went out to dinner with a friend. This should make up for the Milk Duds from yesterday. This salad was so good too. The dressing was made with avocado and was so creamy.

January 20, 2014 - Monday

I keep all my medicine in a cabinet in the kitchen. I keep a small amount of chocolate and candy in the same cabinet. For medicinal purposes only. This evening I found these. Upside, there were only a few left. Downside, there were only a few left.

January 19, 2014 - Sunday

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned something about working for food. I earned this meal. It was so simple and delicious with fresh veggies, basil and olives. Mmmmm.... I did get to watch football while I worked so my friend is not a complete slave driver.

January 18, 2014 - Saturday

I made steak and mashed potatoes for dinner for Riley and I. We decided to go to The Cheesecake Factory for dessert. In the off chance that I haven't mentioned this before, Linda's Fudge Cake is the best chocolate cake ever.

January 17, 2014 - Friday

I did it again! This started out as a thought in my head one day back in October. I've made it a few times since then with a few minor tweaks. It's so good that once it's on my mind again there's no not making it.

January 16, 2014 - Thursday

I went to meet a friend for lunch. As I was about to get out of my car a truck pulled up with this guy in the back. He was a really big, fluffy guy. Kinda like me.

January 15, 2014 - Wednesday

I was on my way to pick up dinner for a friend who wasn't feeling well. I wonder if someone on this plane is going to visit a friend too. I hope so.

January 14, 2014 - Tuesday

I was going through a couple of boxes of photos looking for some pics for some frames I have. I came across a bunch from my trips to Europe. This is about 20 years ago from my first trip overseas. I went to Belgium and then to Paris for a long weekend. After staying out 'til dawn this is how we'd spend the day.

January 13, 2014 - Monday

Our small office building is part of a bigger building complex. Our little entry area does get really good light and we have whatever this is. I came back from having lunch with a friend and saw the sun shinning so brightly on it and it's reflection glowing in the dark background.

January 12, 2014 - Sunday

I've gotten to where I don't like to make omelets any more. If I had tortillas I would have had egg and potato breakfast tacos. I'm glad I didn't. This fritata with a crispy, diced potato crust with fresh bell pepper and onions was amazing. I'm glad I have more potatoes and eggs to do this again later this week.

January 11, 2014 - Saturday

Grace's dry skin still bother's her a bit even though her shedding has improved a bunch. She was in the front room scratching when I took this. It's a good thing I don't have allergies. I love that you can see her eye in this one.

January 10, 2014 - Friday

Across from our office used to be two buildings that were really ugly. Now there's only one. All that's left of the other is this pile of cement and steel. And that pile didn't last too long with these two machines. They spent the morning crushing the cement into smaller blocks and clearing all the debris.

January 9, 2014 - Thursday

The Science Diet food I had been feeding Grace was giving her very dry skin and causing her to shed like crazy. I've changed her food and been giving her supplements. The amount of hair she's shedding is dramatically less. I confiscated one of Riley's old brushes to help keep her groomed.

January 8, 2014 - Wednesday

Walking out to my car in the low light of all the fog, haze and setting sun. I'm assuming the sun is out there somewhere. I don't think I've ever noticed the lights in the stairwells before. It really made the red rails stand out.

January 7, 2014 - Tuesday

So I was one of the millions of people who shopped at Target and were possibly exposed to their security breach. My bank automatically sent me a replacement. I was at work today and cut up my old card. Then I taped it back together and am posting a picture of it on-line. Cuz I'm smart.

January 6, 2014 - Monday

I got home and took grace out for a very quick walk. It's kinda funny how in a picture unless there's snow or ice you have no idea what the temperature is like. Well when I took this picture it was crazy cold. I'm thinking it was 19 or somewhere around that.

January 5, 2014 - Sunday

I went to a friend's house to help do some work around the house. It turned out to be a false alarm. We didn't do anything but hold down the couch and watch movies and football. She did make a delicious dinner for us. I will work for food, but today I didn't have too.

January 4, 2014 - Saturday

I got up, ran some errands and picked up some groceries. I decided to do some cooking for the week. One thing on the menu was a big pot of stew. Anticipating all the really cold weather coming this week, I thought this would be good.

January 3, 2014 - Friday

This is part of the reason my car was in the shop for so long. This is the cam position sensor and when it's going out it makes your car stall when it comes to an idle. Between this, some rodent chewing wires in the engine and the starter going bad it presented a challenge to the mechanic.

January 2, 2014 - Thursday

I was supposed to go to work today. That didn't happen. I got the call from the mechanic that my car was ready around 10am. It wasn't exactly ready the first two times I showed up. I hung around Arlington with my sister and brother-in-law most of the day waiting. So thankful for them.

January 1, 2014 - Wednesday

With my car still in the shop I spent most of the day doing house work and laundry. So much fun. I'm also missing out on a great New Year's Day meal with black eye peas and other goodies. Not how I wanted to start off my new year.
