October 30, 2014 - Thursday

Thursday did NOT step up at all. Rough day at the office. Not bad news or anything like that kind of bad, but it wasn't fun by any stretch. At least I work with cool people. It rained a little later and the clouds started to move away as I was walking out of the office. Isn't that a metaphor or something?

October 29, 2014 - Wednesday

I woke up this morning really wanting to stay in bed. But if I did I would have missed this. We had a "fire drill" today. This pizza was surprisingly very good. Sweet sauce and nice crust. Then we had Paciugo later to celebrate some good news with a new client. Thursday is going to have to step up.

October 28, 2014 - Tuesday

The new guy that sits next to me jumped up and started looking all over and around his desk. He said a spider crawled across it. We found it a little while later. See those little black lines. Those are two of it's eight legs. It was no bigger than the size of a nickel and not worth the screams he made either.

October 27, 2014 - Monday

I didn't want the Cowboys to lose and I had always hoped this guy would have a successful career in the NFL, but I didn't want him to have a good day today. Not that he played really well, but they beat the Cowboys anyway.

October 26, 2014 - Sunday

I went out this morning to take Grace for a walk and found this on my front porch steps. The neighbor has little kids that come and play on my swing every once in a while. It funny to hear them giggling outside.

October 25, 2014 - Saturday

Today was a good day. I ran some errands and spent some time with a friend that's like family and some family that are also indeed like good friends. Of course some good food was part of the day too. Love it when a day like this just happens. None of it was planned.

October 24, 2014 - Friday

My only memory of middle school football, is of a practice. Willie our running back went out wide on a sweep. I, being a linebacker, went out for the tackle. He gave me a shake and left me standing there. I don't think I even touched him. That never happened again. Some lessons are best learned the hard way.

October 23, 2014 - Thursday

Some of the books Riley left behind are kids books. I took the others to Half Price Books. I kept these and have been driving around with them in the car for a while. I have a friend with a little girl that I think might like these. We're planning on meeting sometime soon.

October 22, 2014 - Wednesday

I got in my car after work to go meet a couple of friends for dinner. As I was driving down the street I realized this has been expired for 22 day. I hope I can avoid the po po for another few days.

October 21, 2014 - Tuesday

I stopped by the grocery store again on the way home. I picked up some fruit this time. It wasn't ripe yet, but by this time tomorrow I'm sure this will smell just like a pineapple and will be just right.

October 20, 2014 - Monday

It was a long day today. I stopped by the grocery store on the way home. When I got home I did some work around the house and then made dinner. By the time I sat on the couch my feet were killing me. I managed to go back to the kitchen to make myself a drink.

October 19, 2014 - Sunday

I took an afternoon nap today on the couch. When I got up I went to my room and found someone else was taking a nap too. She usually doesn't like to lay on her bed if the cover isn't on it. I put it to wash before my nap. I guess she's just working through that.

October 18, 2014 - Saturday

I spent most of the day working around the house. I took a break toward the end of the day and had a drink outside. The weather this last week has been so nice. I wish this kind of fall lasted a bit longer.

A friend and I were texting during work about how nice a day it was and what a shame it would be if we didn't have a drink on a patio somewhere later.

October 16, 2014 - Thursday

I got this letter in the mail the other day. Inside there was a letter that simply asked, "How are you feeling?"

October 15, 2014 - Wednesday

I had one banana left from the bread pudding I made last week. I used it and some dark chocolate bits to make some pancakes. I've had banana pancakes and I've had chocolate chip pancakes, but I've never had them all in one. One more reason I'll never be thin. hahaha

October 14, 2014 - Tuesday

This is my friends idea of chili. As a last minute addition, because she didn't have cornbread, she made some grits as an experiment. They're under the chili. Now I don't know if that's a thing already, but if not it should be! This was so amazing and delicious.

October 13, 2014 - Monday

I was talking with a friend about having dinner tomorrow. Chili is going to be on the menu. With the cool weather today it sounded so good. Then I got the idea to make stew. I had to pick up a few things on the way home, and dinner was a little later than usual but it was so good.

October 12, 2014 - Sunday

I spent part of yesterday and today doing lots of laundry. Well, lots of laundry for just one person. Anyway, I needed hangers and the thought occurred to me to look in Riley's closet. I hit the jackpot. I have enough hangers to hang my boxers if I wanted to.

October 11, 2014 - Saturday

This is probably not what they had in mind for their baguettes at La Madeleine but I think Earl Campbell would be okay with it. I like mustard.

October 10, 2014 - Friday

We had a lot of bread leftover from a shoot yesterday so I took some home and made a bread pudding with chocolate and bananas. It's not real pretty, but considering it was a first attempt it wasn't too shabby. The people at work ate some and no one got sick. It's even better warm with ice cream.

October 9, 2014 - Thursday

Went out to meet a friend for dinner. It was a bit warm but the wind was blowing and there was a nice breeze on the patio. I wish I was standing here 5 minutes earlier when the sun was just breaking through the clouds. It looked even more beautiful.

October 8, 2014 - Wednesday

Not wanting to stop on my way home, I bought chocolate chips before dinner. They were in the car all during dinner. When I got home they were kinda soft and stuck together. If you microwave them with a little bit of coconut oil they get smooth and creamy. Perfect for cold bananas.

October 7, 2014 - Tuesday

We have a new assistant for our new Account Service girl. She was complaining that he didn't help much. He just sat around watching Curious George all morning.

October 6, 2014 - Monday

Someone who works in one of our buildings is a Very Important Person and they forgot their badge in their car. I wonder if they ever wear this or is it just decoration for the car. By the way, my mom says I'm special.

October 5, 2014 - Sunday

Normally I don't exactly look forward to giving myself my shot each week. As a matter of fact, I think I sometimes subconsciously forget. And even though my arthritis is starting to return I'm still not looking forward to this. I am very glad that I have it, though.

I went out for drinks and dinner with some friends. The menu at this place had Cheesecake with raspberry puree and another dessert with chocolate sauce on the side. Well, I had to make the obvious substitution and I think it should be added to the menu because it was delicious.

October 3, 2014 - Friday

Since I've had shingles I can't take my arthritis meds and today it really began to catch up to me. I guess that was pretty easy since I was moving pretty slow. I was kinda busy today and worked a little late to get a special project moving. I self-medicated a bit with a Jack and Coke.

October 2, 2014 - Thursday

A crazy storm blew thru the metroplex today. The lights went out in our building for a while. These are the emergency lights. There were lots of broken trees and fences in my neighborhood and as of midnight the electricity is still out.

I spent the evening finally adding a bunch of songs, videos and photos to my new phone. My site looks pretty cool on the new iPhone 6.
