January 30, 2015 - Friday

Tonight I earned this drink. Virtually all the work I did before lunch today ended up in the trash because of client changes and edits. It really put me behind and under the gun for the rest of the day. I had to put off some work for another client until after 5p. When I finally got it all done I fixed myself a drink and thought about what to do about dinner.

January 29, 2015 - Thursday - No Photo

Well, crap. I have already doubled the number of days I missed last year! I've been really busy at work for quite a while now. Lot's of projects and lots of last minute projects. I worked a little late and when I got home I turned on the TV and turned off my brain. And this is what happened.... nothing.

January 28, 2015 - Wednesday

I went to lunch to meet a friend I haven't seen since last year. What crazy Texas weather we're having. It was beautiful, sunny and warm out. It's a good thing too since the restaurant was full and there were no tables available inside. I always get the same thing when we meet here for lunch.

January 27, 2015 - Tuesday

I got home a little late today. I watched a movie on my Apple TV. After I was scrolling through all my other movies looking for something else to watch. I ended staying up late looking at old family videos, laughing out loud in the living room by myself. I am so blessed to be a part of a big, lovable, fun family.

January 26, 2015 - Monday

While I was visiting my friend yesterday we exchanged Christmas presents, finally. Part of my gift were these decorated chocolate covered Oreos. I should have saved one of the prettier ones for a picture, but they didn't survive long enough. I saved the dark chocolate one for last.

January 25, 2015 - Sunday

I went to visit a friend for dinner. To earn this said dinner I had to brave a capacity crowd at Ikea along with a stupid cart that pulled like crazy to the left. It was actually kinda fun dodging all slow moving "browsers" to get to what we were shopping for. After all that exertion my friend felt I earned a bit of dessert too.

January 24, 2015 - Saturday

Because of the meds I take for my arthritis a normal cold last longer than normal. I usually go through a whole bottle of Dayquil and at least half a bottle of Nyquil to get through one. Fortunately this cold is finally on its way out.

January 23, 2015 - Friday

A vendor sent us a big tin at Christmas full of this stuff called Moose Munch. I'm not a big fan of popcorn in general, but I do like Kettle Corn. That aside the tin was way too big and we gave a lot of it away, it was individually packaged. I brought a pack home because the dark chocolate covered ones were really, really good.

January 22, 2015 - Thursday

I stopped by Northpark on my way home. I parked next to this really old Volvo. Who knew they didn't start out boxy at all. I wish more cars had more individual style than they do these days. While most details are very different, overall they kinda all look the same to me.

January 21, 2015 - Wednesday

I worked a little late tonight. We've been pretty busy the last week or so. It was raining by the time I left. It looks like I need new wiper blades. I don't really like to drive in the rain, mostly because I'm distracted by the lights and the reflections.

January 20, 2015 - Tuesday

One of the ladies brought in a bunch of snacks from La Madeleine. I had a chocolate croissant earlier. It didn't survive long enough to be photographed.

January 19, 2015 - Monday

"I'm a fierce, rabid squirrel." If you haven't seen Over the Hedge you should. On another note it was a beautiful day out. Looks like I have a friend enjoying my patio furniture.

January 18, 2015 - Sunday

I woke up feeling a bit better. I went out to spend some time with the family and watch the playoffs. It was a beautiful day again, so I brought Grace out with me. My brother grilled some steaks for dinner that he raised in his own backyard. Talk about farm to table.

January 17, 2015 - Saturday

In spite of it being a beautiful day out, I stayed in. I'm still suffering from a severe "man cold". I'm sustaining myself on delivery food tonight and I thought something spicy would help clear my stuffy head.

January 16, 2015 - Friday

Had to work a little late today too. My boss was trying to talk to me as the sun was setting. I didn't get over here in time to get a shot while the sun was still up. A little while later it looked even better.

Well that didn't take long. Not only was I feeling really crappy, but had to go in to work. We're just too busy for me not too. Ended up working a bit late too. By the time I got home my brain turned off completely. Forgot to take a picture today.

January 12, 2015 - Monday

I stopped by the grocery store on my way home from work. I feel like I'm coming down with a cold so I got some soup and crackers. It sounded good at the time. When I got home Roman Holiday was about to start. I always watch it at least until she gets her hair cut. Maybe I'll just take pictures of my TV all week.

January 11, 2015 - Sunday

What a great season. I still can't stand Jerry Jones and I still remember his interview about 4 weeks into the season when he was still mad that he let his people talk him out of Johnny Football. This season would not have happened if he had his way. Moron! Anyway, thanks Cowboys for giving me a reason to care this year.

January 10, 2015 - Saturday

This was the best part of the this game. I'm not a Pats fan. This was shortly after Brady threw a interception when the Ravens scored a touchdown. Too bad the Ravens couldn't hold on to either of their leads to get the win.

January 9, 2015 - Friday

I woke up not feeling so great. It's bad enough when my feet and ankles are bothering me, but today my hands are hurting too. I held down my couch today and did a little work remotely. These two helped a little too.

January 8, 2015 - Thursday

My brother has expanded his BBQ skills. He and his son-in-law have started making their own sausage at home. He smoked them too. He sent some home with me the other night. I feel bad that you all aren't related to him and get to take some home too. Man oh man is this some good stuff.

My sister sent me a photo of Romo with a Lombardi quote: I firmly belive that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious. I went home and watched the game I DVR'd.

January 6, 2015 - Tuesday

We stayed up late to finish the last couple of episodes of The Walking Dead after dinner last night. Their flight left this morning while it was still dark. I got back to the office a little after 7am. This is from the roof of our parking garage. I went into the office and slept on the couch for an hour and a half.

January 5, 2015 - Monday

Today is the girls' last full day here. I picked them up to run to the bank and get lunch. The elote lady was there at the store by the bank. Alexe wanted to know why anyone would want corn in a cup. I told her I thought the same thing before I tried it. Mmmmmm.

January 4, 2015 - Sunday

We went to Ziziki's for brunch today. We have eaten so good the last several days. Alexe really liked the food here too. Who doesn't. The chocolate cake tastes like pudding. Then we went home and I watched the Cowboys beat the Lions. Tomorrow is the girls last night here. I'm going to miss their company.

January 3, 2015 - Saturday

We left Austin to go see the Natural Bridge Caverns. I took Riley here when she was about 3 years old. It was a fun get away and we had Salt Lick on the way back. That last time we were there in August the food was okay. This time everything was better than ever. Alexe's favorite meal so far.

January 2, 2015 - Friday

Riley, Alexe and I went down to Austin to show Alexe a little bit more of Texas and to get some good BBQ. We stopped in to see my niece that lives down there. It's weird being served a beer by your niece, but it was good and Alexe crossed buffalo wings off her list.

January 1, 2015 - Thursday

Riley, Alexe and I went out for a late lunch. Alexe has a list of foods she wants to try. Cheese Fries were on the list. After the dinner I had the other day we went to Kelly's for their waffle fries. This was in a planter outside the front patio. It was cold and rainy today.
