November 30, 2015 - Monday
I picked up Tony's for dinner tonight and introduced a friend to their Tortellini Bolognese. "I always start to feel sad when I start to feel full." This statement alone may be at the core of why we are friends.
November 29, 2015 - Sunday
The Thanksgiving that keeps on giving. And I am so thankful. My brother started smoking turkeys several years back and I have a standing order for one every Thanksgiving and Christmas if he does them. I usually make turkey pot pies with part of it. Riley would normally eat most of it right from the fridge. This should last longer now.
November 28, 2015 - Saturday
I met my good friend, his wife and daughter, my god daughter for a late lunch. You'd think knowing him well enough to be the Godfather to his daughters this one being 23 years old, I'd know already that neither of them like bacon. I know.... I was shocked too. We ordered potato skins I got all the extra bacon.
November 27, 2015 - Friday
I was supposed to spend the afternoon at a friend's house. I got a text early this morning that she was having some flooding in her drive way and almost in her garage. I got there and set up a pump for her to move all the water to the alley. It was a rough start but they day ended as planned with dinner and wine.
November 26, 2015 - Thursday
I drove out to get some last minute items for our Turkey Day. They live out in Burleson. These are out in front of the grocery store. If you need a big grill that looks like a longhorn you can find them here. They also have some 6' brightly colored roosters for your yard too.
November 25, 2015 - Wednesday
I got out of the office around 1pm, did a little bit of grocery shopping for tomorrow and then met a friend for a late long lunch. It was good to have a drink and get caught up without having to rush back to work. After lunch I went home loaded up the dogs and left to my mom's. Traffic was crazy. It took forever to get there.
November 24, 2015 - Tuesday - No Photo
I don't even remember what I did that I didn't take a photo all day. I think I gave the dogs a bath and they were being really difficult.
November 23, 2015 - Monday
I spent the evening with a friend. We watched this after dinner. If you haven't seen it the concept is very clever. The main character's name is Riley and it's about her growing up from being a little kid to young teenager and how her memories are processed and stored. It really made me miss my Riley now and when she was little. I might have teared up a little. Maybe.
November 22, 2015 - Sunday
I met a friend for an early dinner this evening then drove out to other side of this bridge. It's really cool to see what is slowing beginning to develop over on this side of the river.
November 21, 2015 - Saturday
The cold weather today was the perfect reason to go do a little grocery shopping and make the first bit of stew this year. It was actually more than a bit. I have lunch or dinner for a while.
November 20, 2015 - Friday
Our office breakfast this morning consisted of donuts. I got one with sprinkles and a few donut holes. I also had a chocolate milk. Made for a nice sugar rush and the eventual sugar crash.
November 19, 2015 - Thursday
I realized on Friday that I hadn't taken a photo at all on Thursday except this one. Usually Pancake sleeps on the pillow on the left and Biscuit on the bed. I woke up during the night with Pancake snuggled up against my head. There's an explanation for the cat pillow case but there's not room for that here.
November 18, 2015 - Wednesday
I know the time change was like two weeks ago, but that first week I was on vacation. This is at 5:45 at our office. It's almost dark. In the shadow you can see the red light camera that must generate quite a bit of revenue for the city. You'd be amazed at how many accidents and near misses we see here.
November 17, 2015 - Tuesday
I went to meet a friend for dinner after work. Just as I was getting on the highway the sunset looked beautiful, but I was doing 75 during rush hour on 635 so I thought it wasn't a good time to try to get a photo. This was little while later, still 635, but at a complete stop.
November 16, 2015 - Monday
I worked a little late today and with the time change recently it gets completely dark in the office pretty quick. Especially since we have trees all along all our windows in the office. And from over on this side of the office no matter where you stand it looks like all the Archer people are looking at you.
November 15, 2015 - Sunday
While I was giving Grace a bath today, Biscuit got a hold of my credit card. I caught her trying to order dog toys and treats on Amazon. She apparently had a hard time getting it out of my wallet. This is the second card in as many months. She did the same thing only worse about 3 weeks ago. I'm being trained not to leave my wallet on the coffee table.
November 14, 2015 - Saturday
Pancake gets a little too excited during exciting parts of movies. We were watching King Kong and the dinosaur chasing Naomi Watts had her up at the TV. I don't care for the movie once they get back to the city and I wanted to change the channel but Pancake was watching the whole time. She watched until the credits rolled.
November 13, 2015 - Friday
Our boss decided it was too nice outside to stay inside. We all went out to lunch at Spork. I ordered a side salad and it came to me making a face. Later in the day we began getting the news of the attacks in Paris. It amazing the span of the mind of mankind. So capable of blind hatred and equally capable of immense love and kindness.
November 12, 2015 - Thursday
I went to meet a friend for dinner. This time change is throwing me off. You don't have to be on the beach to see a nice sunset. Sometimes you can just be driving down the street. We have some great sunsets here in Texas too.
November 11, 2015 - Wednesday
I think the puppies are glad to be back. We didn't get home until very late last night and we went straight to bed. It's nice to be back relaxing on my own couch and sleeping in my own bed. I think Pancake agrees.
November 10, 2015 - Tuesday
I drove out to go pick up all my puppies from my parents' house. There's a lot of construction at 30 & 35 and I missed my exit. I ended up visiting with a friend in that area for a little while. There were lots of low clouds once I got out in the country. I took this on the roof of my car.
November 9, 2015 - Monday
We had one last meal together before we all flew our separate directions. It was cool and rainy there so it was nice coming home to clear skies. Another great vacation with friends on the beach.
November 8, 2015 - Sunday
Today we hung around Wilmington. The weather was a little dreary and much cooler. We had lunch at a great Indian restaurant and then went for walk in an Arboretum. I don't know whether it was raining or sprinkling but it was nice.
November 7, 2015 - Saturday
Spent another day strolling along the East Coast. This time in Myrtle Beach. We got one more day of sunshine. It started raining once we got back to the house. Not a bad way to spend the day. There was lots of wine involved too.
November 6, 2015 - Friday
Today may be the last sunny day of our trip here so we spent most of it at a couple of different beaches.
November 5, 2015 - Thursday
We killed some time at the gardens at Duke University while waiting for another friend to land at the Raleigh/Durham airport. It was full of beautiful flowers and plants even though it's fall.
November 4, 2015 - Wednesday
Today was mostly flying. I took this as we were coming in to NYC. La Guardia is being remodeled and was really chaotic. Saw all different parts of a bunch of side doors and walkways in and out of the terminals.
November 3, 2015 - Tuesday
After taking the dogs to my parents' after work I came home and started packing. Going to be in North Carolina for a little get away with friends.
November 2, 2015 - Monday
I went out to take the dogs for a walk. It rained a bit before we left. The light from a street light looked nice but I needed the flash to get a clear photo.
November 1, 2015 - Sunday
I feel like a bad parent. Pancake gets completely absorbed in TV shows. I think its the music that gets her. She starts to tremble if it's too scary. I feel like I'm letting a 4 year old watch The Walking Dead. She stood on the edge of the couch the whole hour and a half. If it's got horses or dogs in it she runs up to the TV and stands on two legs watching.

What was I thinking....
I don't know. I came up with the photo of the day idea because I was bored and needed something to get me motivated creatively after I got fired. I already enjoyed taking photos and knew this would force me to really open my eyes, looking for moments, subjects or anything to shoot. Some days I don't get my camera out fast enough.
I initially posted my photos as an album on Facebook to share with friends. I started in July of 2010 and went back to my b-day in June. That’s why there are only a few photos in the first month and why it starts in the middle of the year.
Being a web designer building a site just seemed like the next logical step for me after a few months. It was an opportunity to build something new that I hadn't built before and another creative project. My first iteration of the website wa in Flash, but the second time around I wanted it to be accessible on mobile devices too.
I have a couple of photography books I'm working on and this project would help feed the need for content, but more importantly, help maintain a level of creative momentum. The best part - there are NO rules. Everything is valid; the interesting, of course, the silly, because its funny (at least to me) or the mundane, just because.
I try to take a photo every day, but sometimes I don’t. Of course some days I take way more than one. Vacations and events are big occasions though I try not to post photos of family and friends. I didn’t really come to this decision until a little ways into this so you’ll see a few faces in the early months of this project.
Enjoy
