October 30, 2015 - Friday

I bough this bottle of Jack a while back. Riley thought it was quite adult of me to have not opened it already. It just doesn't seem right not having any in the house. Well I opened it today and did a little self-medicating. My flare up has not unflared up yet and Aleve wasn't alleviating anything.

October 29, 2015 - Thursday

During the night my knee decided to not cooperate for the day. I spent most of the day off my feet and on the couch. During the Patriots/Dolphins game I found Waldo sitting in the endzone.

October 28, 2015 - Wednesday

I went to meet a friend for dinner. The sunset tonight was beautiful. I wish there had been a place to stop later just after the sun went down. The whole sky was pink and purple all across the horizon.

October 27, 2015 - Tuesday

I met a friend for dinner way up North just off the tollway after work. It's was a nice meal with great company but getting there definitely can drive you to drink.

October 26, 2015 - Monday

I was out after work today and came across this lady with a Burnese Mountain Dog in her front seat. I was parked next to her and told her I kept my Great Pyrenees in the back. She told me she sat there as a puppy and now just believes that's her seat. The amount of drool going down the window was amazing. She was a beautiful dog though.

October 25, 2015 - Sunday

Biscuit is an a$$hole. She gets so jealous whenever I show any attention to Pancake or even Grace. She saw me petting Pancake so she jumped up and got in the way. And by "in the way" I mean she laid on top of Pancake.

October 24, 2015 - Saturday

I woke up to this cute little sandy, blond sleeping next to me this morning. I think maybe I've been single long enough. Ladies, please form a line on the left. hahahahahaha

October 23, 2015 - Friday

I was walking across the street to the cafe for lunch. With all the rain the grass planted in the median was all flattened down and reminded me of the seaweed in the Tide Pools in Southern California. Of course minus all the leaves. I need another vacation soon.

October 22, 2015 - Thursday

I went to see a friend after work. I took my camera out to take a picture of how dark the clouds were, but just as I started shooting it began to rain. I like the light sparkling in the drops on the windshield against the dark clouds.

October 21, 2015 - Wednesday

I didn't take a photo all day except this one. I took Riley to the airport while it was still dark this morning. It was crazy early. I was so tired the rest of the day at work and even took a nap at home and still slept all night. She's gone back to Canada again. I'm going to miss her and the house is going to be so quiet now.

October 20, 2015 - Tuesday

So tonight is Riley's last night here in Texas. We went out to dinner and sat on the patio since the weather was so nice. We had a glass of Sangria just as the sun was setting. We toasted to her next adventure and I guess it's a bit of a new adventure for me too. This drink reminds me of my first trip to Paris.

October 19, 2015 - Monday

While Riley was out at dinner with her mom and grandfather, I met a friend for dinner. We had to go to the Apple Store first. She's having issues with her phone and is looking to trade up to the 6s Plus. I'm sure its from all the great photos I've been showing her on my phone.

October 18, 2015 - Sunday

Riley and I went to meet a friend and her kids for an early dinner. I had a beer. We haven't seen them in a really long time. We met at the Yucatan Taco Stand. Introduced her and her kids to the nachos there. They were not disappointed. We went across the street to get popsicles too. Not a bad way to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

October 17, 2015 - Friday

Riley was gone most of the day so I did some cleaning and laundry and some quality time on the couch. Now that we've decided to find a home for Pancake and Biscuit I find myself a little sad at the thought of them leaving, but I know its for the best. Plus they can be little knuckleheads.

October 16, 2015 - Friday

It's that time of year again. We had another "fire drill" so we get fed while we evacuate the building. I guess its motivation to get people to actually get up from their desk and participate in the drill. There's a wood burning oven in the back of the truck and they do make some good pizza in there.

October 15, 2015 - Thursday

Riley has decided to move back to Canada. We have something going on every night before she leaves. We decided to go out to dinner tonight, just the two of us. We went to one of her favorite places. There's so many places to eat that she's going to miss.

October 14, 2015 - Wednesday

I usually take the dogs with me to pick up Riley from work. We stopped at Sonic to get Riley something to eat on the way home. I think Biscuit wanted to place an order too. She looks sad that she didn't. I'm going to be a little sad when these two are gone. I'm looking for homes for Biscuit and Pancake together. Let me know if you're interested.

October 13, 2015 - Tuesday

A friend invited me over for dinner. I brought wine. She made French Onion Soup. I've never tried it before mostly because it's never looked appetizing. If this is what it tastes like, I have been completely missing out. This was delicious. I was told it was slow cooked and made with lots of love.

October 12, 2015 - Monday

It's not often that I have to stay late and it doesn't take much of a reason for me to fix myself a drink at work, so I did. I love when you mix the Jack and Coke just right and the flavor of the caramel is just creamy and the faint scent of the Jack is right there with every little sip. Ahhhh. Not too shabby a way to "work" late.

October 11, 2015 - Sunday

I spent some quality time on the couch today. Pancake came and snuggled up beside me. As hard as this may be, Riley and I have decided to try to find a home of Biscuit and Pancake. They need to stay together. Pancake is very attached to Biscuit. If you know of anyone interested in two very loving, small pooches, please share this with them.

October 10, 2015 - Saturday

Today was my niece's babygirl's 2nd birthday party. She's so cute and still answer's most questions with a small, little, squeaky "No". It was a beautiful day to have a party outside and hang out with lots of family. I must be getting old because my nieces and nephews used to be the little ones. Now their children are the little ones in the family.

October 9, 2015 - Friday

I picked up Riley after work and we drove over to Tony's for dinner. It was a long drive now that we're not in the neighborhood anymore. This plate did have fried mozzarella on it but Riley and I finished it. I showed a tremendous amount of self control and only ate a portion of my dinner. I went home with leftovers and I wasn't miserably stuffed.

October 8, 2015 - Thursday

I met a couple of friends for dinner. One of their birthdays is tomorrow. My other friend picked up a little cake for them. He's not 4 or 40 so I'm not sure what the connection is with the 4 candles. Whatever the reason it was fun to get together with them. They're both good for lots of laughs.

October 7, 2015 - Wednesday

I had to go to a meeting on the 10th floor. Our office is on the first so I don't get a view like this very often. The High 5 isn't so high from up here. The window tint makes this almost look like an old faded photo. Maybe I should have blurred it a bit.

October 6, 2015 - Tuesday

Our group at the office went out for a birthday lunch for a couple of people here. We went to another burger place. I had a chicken sandwich that was pretty good but very slippery. It had lots of sliced avocado. The food was good but the place was even cooler. It used to be a Sonic. They didn't have a Footlong Cheese Coney, but they had a full bar.

October 5, 2015 - Monday

It looks like those spiders and the cooler weather followed me back from Broken Bow. It's been in the window at the office for a few days now and we caught it eating something yesterday. Eewww.

October 4, 2015 - Sunday

Riley and I went to meet my cousin and his wife for lunch and drinks. We came home and I made this for dinner. It's a chicken and mushroom orzo dish with fresh sage. It's been a while since I made it. I didn't have any parmesan to grate over it, but it was still so very good.

October 3, 2015 - Saturday

A dear friend sent me these. It's a bundle of nested square cookie cutters. She is one of the biggest fans of the Chocolate Pillows I make. I think I mentioned that a square cookie cutter would speed things up. I think this might be a bit of a hint.

I went to get my car washed today and like last month I met a dog there. This is Feeby. I was told that's how it was spelled. She was a really tiny dog in a bag. I thought about the size of the bag I would need to carry Grace around. Hahahaha

October 1, 2015 - Thursday

I put a load of laundry in the wash today and when I started the dryer I heard a loud metallic banging. This was it. I think this was in my shorts since I worked on my friend's garage door about three weeks ago. I need to do laundry more often, but at least I had clean boxers this whole time.
