January 30, 2016 - Saturday - I went to visit a friend and do some shopping for her. We picked up some desserts from the Cheesecake Factory and found this spot to sit out and listen to the live music. It was a beautiful day to be out and about but got a little chilly after the sun went down. It was a long day but we got a lot accomplished.

January 29, 2016 - Friday - I went to the cafe in the building across the street for lunch. There was a really big arrangement of these flowers on a table in the middle of the atrium. I wish I had come earlier when the light would have been shining on these directly.

January 28, 2016 - Thursday - Came home and spent some quality time with the couch. It's days are now numbered and I could not be happier. I was also thinking about how not too long ago Pancake was still so hesitant to sit in my lap. Now she's lying on my chest watching TV. You can see a face in her eye.

January 27, 2016 - Wednesday - One of the girls came back to the office with a big bag of these. I can walk past a bowl of most any candy and not think about it hardly at all, but peanut M&Ms.... really!?!? This bowl almost ruined my appetite for lunch with a friend, but I'm no quitter.

January 26, 2016 - Tuesday - I came home and after feeding the dogs and waiting on my own dinner to finish cooking I started watching Up. It's one of my favorite Pixar movies. Pancake was okay for a while. Yeah she got a little excited when Doug showed up. But she lost it completely when all the pack of dogs came on. I eventually switched to something else. She was out of control.

January 25, 2016 - Monday - Before leaving to go meet a friend for dinner I drove up onto the roof of our parking garage and took a photo of the sun setting. This was right at 5:30 so quite a few people almost ran into me coming down the parking garage and they all looked at me like I was crazy.

January 24, 2016 - Sunday - I met a friend for lunch in The Bishop Arts District. Lunch was Korean fried chicken. It was amazing. The pickled radishes that were served on the side, on the other hand, had to have been the worst thing I've ever tried to eat. We went for pie after and that almost made me forget about the radishes.

January 23, 2016 - Saturday - I got this in the mail the other day along with a disk from AOL and Earthlink. My laptop doesn't even have a disk drive. I spent the day cleaning and doing some laundry. H&R Block, 1999 called and they want their software distribution method back. This got thrown out with the trash.

January 22, 2016 - Friday - I went over to visit a friend who wasn't feeling well. She still has lots of beautiful roses growing out in front of her place. We went out for dinner and I think that helped make her feel better. The wine might have helped too.

January 21, 2016 - Thursday - Today was not as cold as yesterday but it was rainy, windy and we got a little bit of pea-sized hail so it felt so much colder than yesterday. Grey, windy and cold days like today make taking the dogs for a walk a pain in the butt.

January 20, 2016 - Wednesday - Waaka, waaka, waaka, waaka, waaka, waaka . . .

January 19, 2016 - Tuesday - I've been looking for a new couch the last few weeks. I thought I had found the one I really wanted until the other night when I went out with a friend shopping for a mattress. I found the biggest, most comfy couch ever. I might have to rename Pancake and Biscuit, Lunette and Molly. It will be delivered February 2nd.

January 18, 2016 - Monday - Today was a really great day. Slept in a bit and then got up to go see my Godmother. Seeing her made this 46 year old feel like a little kid again. It was good to see her and talk about things that I remembered and things I didn't. I ran a few errands and then went to meet a friend to go look at a couch and then for dinner.

January 17, 2016 - Sunday - We all got up a bit late today. I went to get my oil changed and then to run a few errands. I kinda feel a little guilty when I take photos of Pancake and none of Biscuit. She doesn't sit still for them very well. We spent the evening on the couch relaxing and watching TV. She doesn't watch like Pancake does.

January 16, 2016 - Saturday - I had been considering going camping this long weekend, but it was too cold. I spent the day out in the country visiting my mom and the rest of my family. She's back home from rehab and doing so much better. We got home a little late and watched Guardians of the Galaxy. Pancake really liked Groot.

January 15, 2016 - Friday - I get my shots delivered to my office. They send me one of these every so often to put my used shots in. I keep this one on my desk. It would appear that my biohazardous material has quite a glow.

January 14, 2016 - Thursday - On sunny days at this time of year the office has a nice warm glow and lots of cool reflections around quiting time. I took this just before I left for the day to go run a few errands.

January 13, 2016 - Wednesday - This morning I woke to the rumbling of lots of diesel engines idling and driving around at 5:30am. I guess they're doing a really big pour today. This was the line of trucks still hanging around while I was walking the dogs around 8:30. One of my neighbors was complaining, but I was just glad it wasn't me working at 5:30 in the morning.

January 12, 2016 - Tuesday - I was out running errands tonight and came up to this. I guess they never planned on needing to post $1,500,000,000. Oh the places I would go with all that in my banks. P.S. I didn't win.

January 11, 2016 - Monday - It's gotten to where I pretty much can't watch any nature shows at all without Pancake going apesh!t. Hahaha. Did you see what I did there? She was much better with the whales but once the chimpanzees came on she went crazy. You can't see it but her tail was just a blur. They look like they're looking at each other don't they.

January 10, 2016 - Sunday - After receiving my pan the other day I decided to retire all my old pans once my new ones arrived. I haven't used them yet but I think I'll photograph the first thing I make in each one. Tonight I made a Spicy Chicken Rigatoni. It turned out so good with just the right amount of heat.

January 9, 2016 - Saturday - I had been thinking about getting a tent and camping since my trip to meet the girls at the Grand Canyon. After Christmas my arthritis flared up quite a bit and made me wonder if that was a good idea. I had to place my order with one hand but by the time it was delivered both of them are working pretty well. I set it up in my living room.

January 8, 2016 - Friday - A friend on FB messaged me tonight and asked me if I was still looking for a home for Biscuit and Pancake. I said yes, but immediately felt sad. We talked on the phone and made arrangements for tomorrow so her and her family could meet them. As soon as I hung up I felt like maybe it was a mistake.

January 7, 2016 - Thursday - Indian yesterday, Thai today. The Tom Kha Gai soup at this place in Plano is so good when it's cold outside or if you have a cold inside. It has coconut milk and lemon grass. I even crave this sometimes in the summer. They have a great yellow curry and a dish with glass noodles that's really good too. I just wish it were closer to my house.

January 6, 2016 - Wednesday - I met a friend for lunch at an Indian restaurant. I've met lots of friends at this place and I can't believe this is the first time I've ever remembered to take a photo first. I get this same dish every time, chicken masala (medium hot) and an order of naan. I want to try something new but I can never bring myself to pass this up.

January 5, 2016 - Tuesday - I've made a lot of good food in this pan, red sauces, moles and frittatas. A lot of it has been photographed over the five years I've been doing this. It was my first real pan and for a while my only pan after my divorce. I definitely got my money's worth out of it. I ordered a replacement just before the holidays. I haven't used it yet.

January 4, 2016 - Monday - When we first moved into this office we were told that under no circumstances should any of us (they were looking at me) turn any of the wheels on this. I just asked what would happen but they just kept repeating that we not mess with it. The signs and inspection tags that make it look officially something.

January 3, 2016 - Sunday - I slept in this morning, like most mornings this holiday season. I finally have the puppies cooperating. I'm going to miss these two when they're gone. So come on people, I've been trying to find a home for Pancake and Biscuit for quite some time. If any of you can make a home for these two together, you will love them as much as I do.

January 2, 2016 - Saturday - I was showing photos of the puppies to some people last night. I went to a friend's house tonight for dinner and a movie. I guess after seeing the pictures she wanted to see them in person. She thought I might have exaggerated how intently Pancake watched TV. She realized I wasn't. Here she is watching The Martian. We all liked the movie.

January 1, 2016 - Friday - I went to spend the day with friends eating good food and drinking mimosas. I thought it would be just an afternoon but it went well into the night. A great way to start off the new year, with old friends, new friends and lots of laughs. I hope it's just a small sample of what is to come in 2016 for me and for you as well.
