January 30, 2017 - Monday - I usually make one of these on the weekend. but I had some mushrooms that needed to be used. This is the quick version without potatoes. I made this toward the end of the evening and now have breakfast for the rest of the week.

January 29, 2017 - Sunday - My cousin invited, my dad, my brother and myself out to lunch today to give us gifts she had made for us. Growing up my dad and her dad were partners and we all used to work together. My uncle passed more than 20 years ago and we spent a lot of time at lunch telling stories about him. He was quite a character.

January 28, 2017 - Saturday - Today I spent the afternoon watching my great-niece play softball. Her games were near where mom is laid to rest. I have mixed thoughts about "visiting" her here. Just like I believe you don't have to be in church or with a priest to talk to God, I don't think I need to be here to visit with or talk to mom. Just some thoughts.

January 27, 2017 - Friday - Today was a long day at work even though we got out a little bit early. Had a bit of a headache all day too. By the time I got ready for bed I realized I hadn't take a picture of anything. I was too lazy and too cozy to get out from under these blankets to photograph anything. Sometimes this project is a beat down.

January 26, 2017 - Thursday - The end of the day started much earlier today. We went out to Top Golf to celebrate one of the girls' promotion and to welcome our other new girl. I ordered a Jack and Coke and I saw the waitress write down Jack and Cola. I asked if they had Coke and she said Pepsi like it was the same thing. What is this world coming to?

January 25, 2017 - Wednesday - We hired a new girl at the office. The guys are officially outnumbered. We ordered a new Macbook Pro and I had to set it up for our account girl. The new Touch Bar seems kinda cool but not sure how useful it will be for her. It does run really fast.

January 24, 2017 - Tuesday - Maleficent was on tonight. I think this is a very creative retelling of the story from a different perspective. Pancake was standing up against the table just before I took this. Apparently she lost interest. She didn't seem too impressed with any of it too much.

January 23, 2017 - Monday -  I met a friend for dinner after work. We tried a new Mexican place. My enchiladas were really good, but she wasn't too impressed with her dish. We shared this blueberry bread pudding. I think we both agree this was good.

January 22, 2017 - Sunday - I went with a friend to do some shopping for stuff for her house. We stopped for dinner at a nearby restaurant. We had salads so that makes up for yesterday. She had some prosecco with her meal. They had lots of TVs, most on sports, but they also played mostly 80's music and played the music videos on some of them. Fun place.

January 21, 2017 - Saturday - So I was a little distracted when I was cooking the potatoes and they got a little extra crispy. Fortunately it wasn't a lost cause. It went really well with the mimosas, which went really well with the movie a friend suggested. What was described as a "cult classic" definitely required a drink or two. The second movie was much better.

January 20, 2017 - Friday - It's been another really busy week at work, but we got to leave a little bit early. I went and did some grocery shopping. It will be good to be home after being out all week. I took this sitting at a light on my way home. Did a lot of cleaning and laundry the rest of the night.

January 19, 2017 - Thursday - The group I used to meet for dinner had to switch to lunches for a while since one of us had a baby. Well the baby is now old enough to leave alone at home so we're back to having dinners at our favorite Italian place. It's good to be able to get caught up without having to get back to work. By the way the baby is really home with the dad.

January 18, 2017 - Wednesday - The new girl at work came in wearing these really cool rain boots. We have a traffic cone in our office from an incident a few months back that happens to live under her desk. I pointed out they matched and I wanted to take a picture of her boots with the cone but that seems inappropriate taking a photo under her desk.

January 17, 2017 - Tuesday - Went to visit a friend after work. It was cold and rainy. We had dinner and watched a movie. I showed her my plans for my next getaway and we had some hot chocolate.

January 16, 2017 - Monday - My flare up finally is going away so I got an early start today and spent some time visiting my Godmother. She's now staying near another friend of mine that I got to spend the rest of the day with. We decided to make a bunch of different freezable meals that we can put in a crockpot for easy dinners. Came home with so much food.

January 15, 2017 - Sunday - Went to a friend's house to have dinner and watch the Cowboy game. The group cheering for the Cowboys were out on the patio. Their satellite went out just as the Cowboys were driving to tie the game. It came back just as Rodgers made the amazing pass to make the win possible. Still thankful for such a great season from my team!

January 14, 2017 - Saturday - I had a flare up that started yesterday and made me cancel my plans earlier today but I wasn't going to miss meeting my friend and my Goddaughter for dinner. This is her taking a picture of a guy relaxing on the grass in the evening fog. Glad I got to get out and have dinner with them. It's alway a good time.

January 13, 2017 - Friday - For Friday the 13th I had to work quite a bit late. It delayed me meeting Riley for dinner but we still got to meet. We had a good meal and a great visit. It sure was cold walking in from the where I had to park the car but it didn't stop me from stopping to take a photo.

January 12, 2017 - Thursday - It's been a very busy year so far and today seemed pretty long. I ended the day waiting for some prints to finish before leaving the office. Took a moment to just sit back and relax for a bit. The sun was setting outside and there was a nice golden glow shining in.

January 11, 2017 - Wednesday - I've never seen this before. This is what happens when you're Adobe Premier craps out and freezes your machine. Fortunately a hard restart and all was right in the world again. Well except I still had to work the rest of the day. We did get to leave a little early for a happy hour.

January 10, 2017 - Tuesday - I went to meet a friend for dinner after work. It's not getting dark as early as it used to but the sun had already gone below the horizon by the time I left. I took this while sitting at a light. Traffic was pretty heavy today and it was completely dark by the time I got to the restaurant.

January 9, 2017 - Monday - Last week was the first week back to work and was only 4 days long, but it seemed like two very long weeks. Today was not much different and the rest of the week doesn't look much better. I opened another Christmas present this evening to wind down after doing some cleaning and laundry.

January 8, 2017 - Sunday - I spent the day in a Christmas gift I received this year. I don't remember the last time I owned a set of pajamas, but as comfortable as these are I might start buying more myself. I must look like the spokes person for the expensive scotch tape but these are really cozy. They made my afternoon nap even better.

January 7, 2017 - Saturday - This is all that remains of the blizzard of 2017. I braved the roads and got out to see a movie with a friend.  I liked the story of La La Land, but I honestly don't see what the big deal is all about. It was like an old Hollywood musical except they couldn't find actors that could sing or dance.

January 6, 2017 - Friday - We had our first "snow" of the year. I think it was more little bits of ice. I worked a little late tonight and by the time I got out this is all that was on my car. When I got home none of the dogs were too eager to go out for walks. I wasn't either.

January 5, 2017 - Thursday - I was really looking forward to dinner tonight. With it being so cold some warm, thick and creamy tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich sounded like such a good idea. I added a sprinkle of cayenne pepper when I roasted the vegetables yesterday so it would have a little hint of heat. Which reminds me I'm out of Tabasco.

January 4, 2017 - Wednesday - I stopped by the grocery store on the way home today. I saw someone's post about making tomato soup and thought it was a great idea. I roasted all this in the oven for a while and then blended it all up into soup. It was a bit late by the time it was done and I had already snacked on other things so I had just a small taste before putting it all away.

January 3, 2017 - Tuesday - Our first day back to work and my first day walking almost painlessly and almost normally. Now that I'm much more mobile I went to visit my Godmother again. She's 91 and is still very sharp. She told me some great stories about growing up in upstate New York.

January 2, 2017 - Monday - The last day of this holiday season was a good one. I met my two "daughters" Riley and Rane and her BF for dinner. It's so good so see them both together every time. We had a great Italian dinner and then went over to the Dairy Queen drive through for a Blizzard. If I every marry again, they have quite a wedding planned for me.

January 1, 2017 - Sunday - One of my friends made these for me for Christmas. It's a shame the I'm going to have to throw them out to get started on my New Year's resolution. Hahahaha.. as if. These are delicious. Started off the year with a great breakfast, mimosas, dessert, a Puerto Rican dinner but most importantly great friends.
