April 29, 2017 - Saturday - Got up early to head to the south side of Arlington to see my great-niece play tee ball. By the time I got thter the game was canceled. Fortunately I had plans to meet some friends for lunch nearby. We got an early start on lunch. Wish we didn't all live so far away from each other.

April 28, 2017 - Friday - The other day my friend gave me a bunch of herbs from her garden. I used the basil for dinner tonight. She's growing tomatoes too. Can't wait until I get some of those.

April 27, 2017 - Thursday - Met a friend for dinner after work. We decided to go down to the lake to get a photo of the setting sun, but the waiter was really slow with our check. The sun was already below the horizon by the time we got to this spot. No complaints though it was still a really nice place to sit for a while.

April 26, 2017 - Wednesday - Going through all the photos last week of our food from our trip to Rome got me inspired. I looked at several recipes for Spaghetti Arrabiata and then did a version of my own. Lots of garlic, some black olives, fresh grape tomatoes and some fresh oregano from a friend's garden. Oh and some cayenne pepper for the heat.

April 25, 2017 - Tuesday - I've been thinking about shaving for a while. I finally did it today. A friend suggested that I not post this as my photo of the day. She said it could be misunderstood as something other than my beard. I think she was implying the hair on my face looked like it might come from somewhere else. No more Santa Clause.

April 24, 2017 - Monday - Like a slow news day this Cutie peel was probably the most interesting thing that happened today. At least that I could photograph.

April 23, 2017 - Sunday - Went to a friend's house for an unplanned dinner. I stopped to pick up some wine. The wine was good, the food was good and so was the company.

April 22, 2017 - Saturday - I drove out to see my dad for lunch and to run some errands. I've taken a photo of day at this same spot a few times. There's a big open view and an interesting crooked tree. It looked cool with the long blanket of clouds going on forever into the distance. I thought this turned out a little better.

April 21, 2017 - Friday - Riley and I had a dish like this while in Rome. I saw it yesterday while looking through the photos for Tuesday's post. I remembered a friend gave me some fresh basil from her garden so I decided to pick up the rest of the stuff at lunch and make a snack at the office. We had wine too.

April 20, 2017 - Thursday - "... oh my!" I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.

April 19, 2017 - Wednesday - I didn't sleep well last and was running late to work this morning. I completely forgot I had dinner plans after work today so I came home for lunch and to change. I ran into a lady outside walking this guy. He has lots of white hair on his face too. Grace was at the patio door barking at me petting him.

April 18, 2017 - Tuesday - Riley and her BF came into town to have dinner with me. We went for Italian up the street. We spent the time waiting for our meal talking about all the good food we ate while we were in Italy, the Spaghetti Arrabiata, the Mussles, the Pasta Putanesca, Fettuccini Bolognese, Spaghetti Carbonara, Caprese Salads, Sausage Pizzza and lots and lots of wine.

April 17, 2017 - Monday - You would think aching and walking with a limp would be enough to remind myself to take my shot. Well it's not! I forgot yesterday and didn't think about until I had already got into bed. Had to stay up a bit longer and wait for it to warm up a little bit.

April 16, 2017 - Sunday - Went to spend Easter with the family. It was a good time as always, my brother made brisket and ribs, lots of family brought lots of side dishes and there were two dishes of banana pudding with lots of Nilla Wafers. I love chocolate cake more than most any other dessert but that maybe the way to my heart.

April 15, 2017 - Saturday - This is Louie, he's been my photo of the day before. We're friends because I usually "accidentally" drop chips for him. I usually make guacamole when I visit him, but today I didn't, so no chips. He's kinda giving me the side eye because I didn't share any of the steak we had tonight.

April 14, 2017 - Friday - We had the day off today for Good Friday. I spent most of the day working on an update to this site. It's not a big revision to the look but is a new responsive design that should look better on tablets and phones and be quicker for me to update. I plan on launching it at the beginning of next month.

April 13, 2017 - Thursday - Met another friend for dinner tonight. We met at her place before. She had a small to-do list that needed to be taken care of. It's nice to have friends close enough to know I don't mind this at all. We tried a new Mexican place. Not too shabby.

April 12, 2017 - Wednesday - Drove out to Grapevine to meet a friend for dinner. We went to a little Italian place on Main. I got a great parking spot. This was set on the table not too long before the sun went behind the buildings across the street. The tomatoes on this were really good. Great company and good food.

April 11, 2017 - Tuesday - Several years ago I went to see a doctor. Among other things I was weighed. The next day, in another waiting room while reading a National Geographic, I found out I weigh exactly the same as the average giant male panda. Discouraged, I shared my new found info with some coworkers. One of them gave me this at lunch today.

April 10, 2017 - Monday - After dinner I was craving something sweet. I looked in my cabinet and saw I had this, the chocolate and coconut oil. I still had bananas too.

April 9, 2017 - Sunday - My Godmother had a huge collection of angels of all shapes and sizes. At her service yesterday there was a table full of them. She wanted everyone who came to have one of her angels to take home with them. It was nice to take a little something of her home with me to go along with all the memories.

April 8, 2017 - Saturday - Today we laid my Godmother to rest. It was a beautiful ceremony and I got to spend time with her kids who are like brothers and sisters to me and my family. After the reception I went to meet a good friend and his daughter downtown. He's like a brother and she's one of my Goddaughters. It was a day filled with lots of laughter and tears.

April 7, 2017 - Friday - Went out to lunch with one of the guys from work. We met a couple of guys from a vendor we've used in the past. It was a beautiful day to sit on a patio in the sun and have a good lunch and a couple of beers with new friends.

April 6, 2017 - Thursday - Out with the old and in with the new. After 5 month on the shot in blue my doctor has switched me to the new one in green. I'm hoping it works like the shot I was on for 12 years. So far I'm not dead. My optimism is not wavering, yet.

April 5, 2017 - Wednesday - Met a friend for dinner after work. We picked a place we've not been to in a long while. This will always be one of my favorite dishes. When the tomatoes are in season this is even better. Not too shabby tonight. We had a nice table on the patio too.

April 4, 2017 - Tuesday - I got out to walk the dogs after work. Fortunately, the little ones didn't see this guy having his early evening meal on the fence.

April 3, 2017 - Monday - What a beautiful day. I got out at lunch to run an errand. I have a friend who was stuck at work so just to be nice I had a mini banana split Blizzard just for them. Had lunch in my car with the windows down and the sunroof open. Going back to the office was pretty difficult today.

April 2, 2017 - Sunday - Woke up to the drizzling sound of the rain. That made me stay in bed a bit longer than I would have normally. I finally got out for a little while today and picked up some groceries. This made finishing up the laundry a little easier to deal with. Not to mention getting my vitamin C.

April 1, 2017 - Saturday - After spending most of the day cleaning and doing laundry, I went to meet a couple of friends for dinner. It's been a while since we all met. Their micheladas we're really tempting, but I stuck with my Pacifico. We only got sprinkled on a few times but not enough to melt us.
