July 30, 2017 - Sunday - Getting a photo of Mia awake is mostly just a waste of time. She doesn't sit still hardly at all. When she crashes she crashes. She does like to sleep next to me on the couch which make getting these photos a little bit easier.

July 29, 2017 - Saturday - After a long day of chasing and harassing Biscuit, Mia was all tuckered out. She's only about 9 months old so she's still such a playful puppy. But when she gets tired she likes to sleep on her back with her tongue poking out a little bit.

July 28, 2017 - Friday - Look at Pancake lying there so peaceful and relaxed. I thought I'd get a photo of this since it's all going to come crashing down tomorrow when Mia comes to stay for the weekend. Haha. She likes to play. Biscuit doesn't. And Pancake definitely doesn't want to have any of that nonsense.

July 27, 2017 - Thursday - Went to see my rheumatologist today to see if she could help with this flare up. I made a joke about my treatment and she replied, "Now I see why you're single." Hahaha. I told her my insurance was not going to cover the kind of treatment she thought I needed for that.

July 26, 2017 - Wednesday - The swelling isn't just in my knee, but at least its all in the same leg. I'd be totally screwed if it were my right ankle. Hahahaha. Riley was in town today and she stopped by and helped out her poppa bear a little. These last two photos are mostly just to help document what's working and not working with this new med.

July 25, 2017 - Tuesday - I have sexy legs. One of them happens to be a bit bigger than the other today. Makes getting around quite a challenge.

July 24, 2017 - Monday - A friend at work has got me hooked on popcorn. We eat it pretty regularly at the office. I like popcorn but I hate it getting stuck in my teeth. Even still I'm now buying for the house.

July 23, 2017 - Sunday - A friend came over to hang out for a while. After lunch we had Chocolate Pillows. I made them for her for the first time. She seemed to like them okay. Her choice in movies was a bit suspect.

July 22, 2017 - Saturday - Today was a good day. I've been feeling better than I have in a long while which makes getting the normal stuff done around the house doable. That alone is a great change for me. More specifically I've been able to be on my feet more cooking and cleaning. I made a Caprese Salad for lunch today.

July 21, 2017 - Friday - Today was a really good day. I got out of work pretty early and went to meet a friend for lunch. I came home and took a nap. I was up a bit late last night. I spent the evening doing laundry and watching The Office. By the end of the night I realized I didn't have a photo. These are the tomatoes given to me from friends. They will be lunch tomorrow.

July 20, 2017 - Thursday - When I got out of the office I went to the grocery store and did some shopping. I went home and cleaned a bit, did some laundry and then cooked a bit. I made this for dinner again. Mostly because it's quick, easy and delicious but also I needed to use the tomatoes I already had. I had Game of Thrones playing in the background all evening.

July 19, 2017 - Wednesday - I went to see a friend that I haven't seen in a long time. She grows so many flowers in her backyard and some veggies too. She gave me some tomatoes to take home with me. They're so sweet.

July 18, 2017 - Tuesday - One of the girls at work made these for us today. They're red velvet white chocolate chip cookies. And they are delicious.

July 17, 2017 - Monday - I got out of the office a little early and went to see my friend in the hospital again. She can eat regular food already and this place is just a few minutes away. Of course I picked up the nachos that I like so much and we shared them for dinner. I think she's getting kicked out tomorrow.

July 16, 2017 - Sunday - I spent the early part of the day finishing up another show, Westworld. Instead of watching the premiere of Season 7 of Game of Thrones tonight I started watching it from the beginning of Season 5. I figure by the time I finish I'll have a few shows of this season to get caught up on.

July 15, 2017 - Saturday - Went over to a friend's for movie/pizza night. That's my namesake back there flashing his belly. When I got there I was asked what I'd like to drink. I asked for a Jack with ice and a splash of water. I didn't realize I'd be getting a commemorative cup that I'd get to take home with me.

July 14, 2017 - Friday - Today was a busy day. Went in to the office for a bit, had lunch with a friend to talk about some freelance work, drove out to Ft. Worth to see someone in the hospital, got to see two old family friends that I haven't seen in forever. Went to a school fund raiser after that. My brother was cooking some BBQ and I got to meet this guy. Not a bad day at all.

July 13, 2017 - Thursday - Took some time off this afternoon to spend with a friend. One of the errands we did was to go get her hair touched up. I don't know what it's really called but she came out with foil in her hair. Apparently her color need to be adjusted. Thought it looked good in the sunlight.

July 12, 2017 - Wednesday - Went out to dinner with a friend. Dinner was good but they have these new ice cream bars at Paciugo. Not that they taste much different than their gelato in a cup, but this mint with chocolate shell is even better than the mint chocolate chip. It was even good enough to eat outside.

July 11, 2017 - Tuesday - Mia, Riley's BF's dog, came to visit for the night. I love that she's still a puppy and a bit bigger than Biscuit. Mia just wants to play and annoys the hell out of Biscuit. Gives her some of her own medicine that she usually gives Pancake. It's funny to watch Mia chase her around almost nonstop.

July 10, 2017 - Monday - I'm not a baker of much, so it's a rare occasion when I make a cake. I saw this recipe online back around my birthday that uses box cake and brownie mixes. I decided to give it a try. I cheated and used a store bought frosting too. It wasn't bad but it's no Linda's Fudge Cake.

July 9, 2017 - Sunday - Today I was feeling better than I have in forever. I woke up kinda early and did a lot of cleaning and then a whole lot of cooking. I made this creamy Chicken and Mushroom Orzo for dinner then made a frittata to have for breakfast for the week. I even made a cake.

July 8, 2017 - Saturday - After months of my ineffective last arthritis meds my doctor switched me to this. I've been taking it since Monday and it seems to be kicking in. After going through 3 meds that didn't work I'm cautiously optimistic. After a 5 day weekend on the go last weekend, I enjoyed doing absolutely nothing today.

July 7, 2017 - Friday - Today my baby girl turns 21. I came up with an idea for a video for her kinda late the night before and stayed up late enough to get a good start on it. Coincidentally, I've done these about every 3 years. It's always fun going through all my photos and video to put these together for her.

July 6, 2017 - Thursday - I met a friend for dinner. We usually go to a handful of places that we frequent, but we're trying to find some places out of the norm. She was craving seafood. I'm not a fan of almost all seafood but I didn't get this way being that picky. They had shrimp and grits that were more southern than Cajun. Very, very good.

July 5, 2017 - Wednesday - Went to the grocery store today after work. I picked up a bunch of groceries for a few different meals. I made guac the other day and it was so good. Today was not as successful. It was good, just not nearly as good as the other day. I think it was the avocados.

July 4, 2017 - Tuesday - Found one of the many parks by the lake to watch the fireworks show in Grapevine. Got there just as the sun was setting and it wasn't too long a walk from the parking area to the lake's edge. There were a bunch of these growing along the path to the water.

July 3, 2017 - Monday - A friend of mine introduced me to Watermelon Lemonade from Chick-fil-a. This stuff is so good on a hot summer day. I bet it would be really good with a shot of Jack Daniels in it too.

July 2, 2017 - Sunday - Met a couple of friends for dinner. Dinner almost always means dessert too.

July 1, 2017 - Saturday - Today started out very rainy but I still ended up smoking a cigar by a pool in the shade on a cool Summer day. Also spent some time making a big bowl of guacamole and had a 10 year old little girl tell me it was "spot on." It was one of my better batches.
