May 30, 2017 - Tuesday - "...and here's the bottom line. Our trio's down to two..." The friends I get together with for lunch and dinner sometimes is down to two tonight. One of our group is just too busy. We still managed to have a great time and great conversation though significantly fewer laughs. My friend did conveniently forget her wallet which made for a good laugh.

May 29, 2017 - Monday - Went to meet a friend for lunch today. Then we went to a birthday/pool party. Thankfully it was just sunny and beautiful and not sunny and muggy like it was on Saturday. It was a great day with great friends.

May 28, 2017 - Sunday - I know I made one the other day, but it turned out so good I had to give it another go. I used red bell peppers for this one this time. Think I'll go back to green next time. Still a very good breakfast/brunch idea though I was missing the prosecco this time.

May 27, 2017 - Saturday - I got to have lunch with Riley, her BF and Rane today. I came home and took another nap. I've not been sleeping well lately. For dinner I made a Caprese salad with some of the groceries I picked up yesterday. These aren't from my friend's garden but that will happen soon I'm sure.

May 26, 2017 - Friday - We got out of the office quite a bit early today. I went and picked up some groceries and ran a few errands before coming home and taking a well deserved nap. We had some fresh corn left over from our grilling on Sunday so I used my little camping grill for that and some Italian sausage I picked up while I was out.

May 25, 2017 - Thursday - We had an impromptu Happy Hour today with some of the people I work with. We had drinks and someone ordered this crab dip. I'm not a fan of seafood but this was really good. Not as good as the arancini though. It was gone before I could take a photo of that stuff.

May 24, 2017 - Wednesday - I took a half day at work today so I could go with a friend to get a her a new puppy. I was a little afraid that we might be going to a puppy mill but thankfully we didn't. I got to play with a bunch of standard poodle puppies and left smelling a bit like puppy breath. All my other photos were even blurrier than this one.

May 23, 2017 - Tuesday  - I had to work a little late today and then went to Costco to get a membership so I can start getting gas there. It's so much more convenient than anything else around here. I came home and almost had cereal for dinner, but my tomatoes and mushrooms weren't going to last much longer. This is one of my better iterations. The mimosas helped too.

May 22, 2017 - Monday - I bought a wireless remote for my camera that works with an app on my phone. I was testing it at the office and took this. It doesn't work exactly the way I'd like it to but it's does have some perks.

May 21, 2017 - Sunday - Went to have dinner at a friend's. We grilled out. I miss having a grill. She has a great garden and keeps me supplied in fresh basil, oregano and parsley.  She has so many bundles of tomatoes all over her plants. Can't wait to make a plate full of Caprese salad with these, her basil and some fresh mozzarella.

May 20, 2017 - Saturday - Went to meet a friend for lunch. We had a Spicy Pig pizza. It was really good. We walked over to a shop across the parking lot to do a little shopping before going to get dessert. This guy was in the back of someone's truck and of course I had to go say hello and pet him a little.

May 19, 2017 - Friday - Yesterday while I was home I used a grocery delivery service for the first time. It wasn't a great success but I supposed it will come in handy on days when I'm not walking well. I did get some fresh cherries delivered and made this cobbler. It was a bit of an experiment. It turned out good but needs a little work.

May 18, 2017 - Thursday - After dessert yesterday I stopped on the way home to get dinner. Woke up feeling like I was dying so I stayed home. I ordered a new lens the other day. It was delivered while I was home today. Wish I had this last week when we went to the zoo.

May 17, 2017 - Wednesday - Finally, Riley works somewhere where there's at least some small benefit to me. Well aside from not needing  money from me. Hahahaha. I guess when I get old and helpless she already knows how to take care of old me, but until then this warm cherry cobbler with chocolate chip ice cream will have to do.

May 16, 2017 - Tuesday - Last May this dish was my photo of the day four times. I wish I felt up to cooking as much as I did last year. The best thing about this aside from the taste is how simple and quick it is to make.

May 15, 2017 - Monday - Had an appointment today at the dentist for a deep cleaning. I kinda feel bad because I really don't care to go to the dentist. My blood pressure is always high when they check it. It's normal at all my other doctor visits. But all the people there are really, really nice. I'm even friends on FB with a couple of them.

May 14, 2017 - Sunday - We've done yard work at Mom & Dad's almost every year for years. Mom always liked her yard to look nice. I found some really good mild Italian sausage at Costco yesterday so even though I wasn't walking very well I was able to contribute cooking at the grill. I think Dad was a little relieved to get so much done for mom today.

May 13, 2017 - Saturday - Today wasn't a good day. I think all the walking in Costco yesterday aggravated one of my ankles. Spent most of the day on the couch again. I was cleaning out my wallet and came across this receipt from the gas station. When's the last time you paid $1.99 a gallon? It's a crappy photo but it's the only one I took today.

May 12, 2017 - Friday - The Costco behind the office finally opened yesterday. Today at lunch we had a group outing. We decided to have a wine tasting at the office this afternoon. I found this wine. Riley and I had this while we were in Rome. It was a good afternoon at the office.

May 11, 2017 - Thursday - Drove out to Grapevine again to meet a friend for dinner. We walked over get a snow cone after. It was a beautiful evening. When I got in my car I decided to try to find a clear view of the sunset. It was so beautiful and full of color. I wish I could have found this spot about 20 minutes sooner.

May 10, 2017 - Wednesday - I washed my car yesterday morning. Well I took it to get washed yesterday morning. It literally rained in my area for 3 minutes today and it was the 3 minutes I was driving back from my place to the office.

May 9, 2017 - Tuesday - Took a day off work today to spend with a friend, her kids and Riley at the Ft. Worth Zoo. We came to her girl's 5th birthday party here almost 12 years ago. It was even more fun this time except there wasn't any cake. We did go to Joe T's after for dinner. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday.

May 8, 2017 - Monday - I met a friend for lunch today. I think this same plant was my photo of the day the last time we met here. I got here a little before her so I got to spend a little more time out on the patio. It was so nice out we decided to eat out here too.

May 7, 2017 - Sunday - I was lying in bed this morning wondering what I could have for breakfast. I stayed in bed until I figured it out. I had this bell pepper that needed to be cooked. The idea was good. The execution needs a little work.

May 6, 2017 - Saturday - Spent the day with friends. Part of the day was in the shade on a hammock and there was a nice breeze too. The last part of the day was at Ziziki's for a friend's early birthday dinner. There was chocolate cake too.

May 5, 2017 - Friday - Today I was really productive before lunch. I got so much done. Then our office went to celebrate Cinco de Mayo for lunch. There may have been margaritas consumed by all involved. There has been a dramatic drop in productivity since we came back and a 12 pack of this showed up. It's 4p, why are we still here?

May 4, 2017 - Thursday - Went to a friend's house for dinner and to pick up a house guest. She's going out of town for a few days and sent me home with leftovers and her baby boy. Who knew the cupholder in the car would fit a bottle of wine too. I'm sure there's an open container law somewhere that says something about this.

May 3, 2017 - Wednesday - Went to the grocery store at lunch today. The avocados were ripe and on sale so I decided to bring some back to the office for an afternoon snack. This was one of my better batches of guacamole. It made for a great break in the day.

May 2, 2017 - Tuesday - A little after dinner snack. No bananas this time. Just chocolate.

May 1, 2017 - Monday - This shit ain't working!!!!
