July 31, 2018 - Tuesday - Another long day at work and even more work after work. This job is a really fun project. This guy I've been working with is illustrating a children's book that his mother wrote. My job is to find a coloring style that will work with for the story, color the illustrations and then layout the final book. This is one of the test pages.
July 30, 2018 - Monday - Today was a long day at work again. And again it wasn't until I was getting ready for bed that I realized I hadn't taken a photo. I was working a little before bed and then opened my Photos. This album is some of my favorite shots from this collection. Each year I go through and add in my favorites from the past year. This probably won't be one.
July 29, 2018 - Sunday - I was outside a little bit this morning before it got too hot. I saw this and looked for the builder but no one was home, at least as far as I was willing to look. Maybe they were out getting groceries like I need to.
July 28, 2018 - Saturday - Yesterday was a very, very long day at work. Then highway 35 was shut down just as I was getting there. The hour long drive home turned into a two hour drive. I was so tired and I just wanted to get home. I had plans for this morning so I had to get up and going early. I was rewarded with this beautiful sky for my drive.
July 27, 2018 - Friday - My post from July 25, 2015 showed up in my FB Memories. It was about my friends' 4 year old daughter. I did a screen shot and sent it to her mom. Her mom sent me this back. The last time I saw her daughter was at the holidays and my arthritis was giving me issues. How thoughtful and sweet is this!?!?!?!
July 26, 2018 - Thursday - I know most people shave in the morning, but I don't shave very often so when I finally do it takes a little while. I spent some quality time in front of the mirror this evening getting rid of all this shagginess.
July 25, 2018 - Wednesday - When I got to the office I dropped my keys on the desk and walked over to get a drink and some fruit. I came back and saw them sitting just like this. It was a sign today was going to be a good day. I had lunch with really good friend and dinner with another good friend. I even had dessert.
July 24, 2018 - Tuesday - Sunday while I was grocery shopping I picked up some plums along with some other fruits. I don't think I've ever had a plum with such a deep red color inside. It was juicy and delicious too. Not a bad way to start my day.
July 23, 2018 - Monday - As I was getting ready to go to bed I realized I hadn't taken a photo today. I also realized I hadn't eaten my daily orange or taken my afternoon supplements either. I've got to do better about those. I've not missed a photo of the day so far this year. That's 204 photos and only 161 left.
July 22, 2018 - Sunday - Went into town to run some errands. About the only thing about living in the country that I'm not too fond of is having to drive into town to do or get most anything. That and our "high speed internet" at home is lacking high speed. On my way back home with groceries and lunch I got caught by a train. My car was showing it was 110° outside.
July 21, 2018 - Saturday - The air conditioner went out last night. I know it's crazy hot outside and all but I don't think it really is this hot in the house. It's not too bad if you're just watching TV with the ceiling fan on high. Fortunately dad has a little window unit that he was able to put in the back of the house so he's not melting.
July 20, 2018 - Friday - I got up a little late this morning, but still early enough to make breakfast. Who am I kidding I'd eat this any time of the day. I made this for dad and I. He remembered this one. He really likes the potato crust. It helps make this extra filling and that's all that really counts to dad. Food is fuel. We could not be more different on this point.
July 19, 2018 - Thursday - I got an email from National Geographic the other day. They periodically do "assignments" open for public submissions. I spent a big part of the evening looking at photos from people all over the world of places all over the world. I thought about maybe submitting a few myself.
July 18, 2018 - Wednesday - After meeting a client this morning I stopped into the office to kill some time before meeting Riley for lunch. I saw this guy having lunch as I was walking in. On the day Riley was born I remember driving to the hospital and seeing a little rabbit sitting next to a bush in the parking lot as we were rushing in. We met Riley about 8 hours later.
July 17, 2018 - Tuesday - On Riley's birthday I met her, Rane and Wally for lunch. When I came back out to my car this key chain was sitting in my driver's seat. I've never seen this before and it's clearly been around . My car was locked and the windows were up. It's from Dr. Who I believe. Does that have something to do with teleportation?
July 16, 2018 - Monday - I was walking my friend's dog this evening. He's a big couch potato and according to his mother he needs more exercise. I volunteered to walk him but not until dusk when it was tolerable outside. He's so funny. He walks so slow away from the house and so quick when we start walking back. Found this along the way.
July 15, 2018 - Sunday - Later in the day I took this down the road from the house. There's a bunch of them growing all along a fence. It's funny how so much of what's "growing" around here is all brown or yellow when it's supposed to be green. These are the only things that seem to be thriving in this heat.
July 14, 2018 - Saturday - My tomato plants are not doing well. Being gone for days at a time with the heat being like it is my plants are just not getting enough water. Fortunately my basil isn't so bad off. I went over to my brother's and took some of his abundant supply of tomatoes for lunch today. This is so good.
July 13, 2018 - Friday - I went to have lunch with two of my sisters. Coincidentally we ran into a cousin my sister had just met earlier in the day that none of us knew before they met. One of my sisters suggested dessert. I didn't argue since the three of us decided to share this. It was okay. With Oreo's in it I would have thought it would be better.
July 12, 2018 - Thursday - Driving back home late tonight. Riley participated in an art show this evening in Dallas and sold quite a few prints of her photographs. I'm so proud of her and it was great to see other family and friends there supporting her too.
July 11, 2018 - Wednesday - Met a friend for dinner. Dinner was good but this dessert was even better. I've noticed that I get blamed a lot for getting dessert even when it's not my idea. Maybe I should just start declining dessert. Hahahaha, but who am I kidding. Like I'm going to say "No" to something like this!
July 10, 2018 - Tuesday - This is Billy. He's the much older brother of yesterday's photo. He's a little skittish but I think it's more because he doesn't see or hear well anymore. He spends most of the day just resting on one of many cushy beds he has but he does like to have his back scratched. Doggy retirement doesn't sound so bad.
July 9, 2018 - Monday - Apparently the rumors of my dog sitting skills are getting around. For the next few days I'll be taking care of this big fur ball and her much, much, smaller, much older brother. She's still quite a bit of a puppy and gets so excited when there's any coming or going, but she's such a smart, sweet girl once she calms down a little.
July 8, 2018 - Sunday - The other day I bought some avocados for guacamole. There were a couple left that needed to be eaten. I made some avocado toast for dad and I. He's not as big a fan of guac as I am but likes avocado more by itself on tortillas. I had some tomatoes from my brother's garden to add. I should have sprinkled some oregano on these too.
July 7, 2018 - Saturday - Today was such a good day. It was Riley's birthday and I met her, her BF and my second daughter for lunch. I haven't seen my 2nd daughter since my birthday over a year ago. It's so much fun getting to see them both together. They're both beautiful young women with so much in front of them. It was Riley's birthday but felt like it was a gift to me.
July 6, 2018 - Friday - I was out running some errands with a friend. We stopped for lunch and this bike was parked next to me. It was still there when we came out. I really liked the color of the leather with the black paint. The bright blue reflection of the sky just made it look even cooler.
July 5, 2018 - Thursday - Today was hot! Drove into town to see a friend and to drop off a gift with some other friends. It was nice to get back into the house to the AC. I've not slept enough the last couple of nights so napping on the couch in front of the TV will be happening later.
July 4, 2018 - Wednesday - Spent this 4th like I've spent so many before, hanging by my brother's smoker waiting for these to be ready. Spending time with lots of family. Eating until I'm almost miserable but very, very happy. This year though, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner all together. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever want to move away from my family.
July 3, 2018 - Tuesday - Went in to the office for a few hours today. My old friend and coworker was there freelancing too. We ended the day like we used to for old times sake. So even though I shouldn't drink much at all anymore a small Jack on ice with a splash of water could be considered medicinal, right?
July 2, 2018 - Monday - My cousin came across this stick bug on a wood pile and managed to get him onto his phone. I got a few photos of this guy and then took him back to the wood pile to live his life in peace.
July 1, 2018 - Sunday - My friend and I ran some errands today. One was picking up some mulch for her yard. While walking in the front yard this afternoon I came across this. There were two tiny little finches in her bird feeder later, but I couldn't get to my camera fast enough.
