June 29, 2018 - Friday - I drove into Dallas to do a little bit of work, but more importantly to have lunch with a friend from out of town. It was so good to see her after so long. Later I went to the grocery store to pick up some fruit for the weekend. Damn the end aisle displays!!! I don't like Twinkies but these chocolate ones reminded me of whoopie pies. They were okay.

June 28, 2018 - Thursday - I went over to my brother's house to eat a bunch of his tomatoes. He and his family are gone on vacation so I'm helping by not letting these go to waste. Walking over I could see bundles and bundles of tomatoes all over his plants now. This is so good and I did share a bit with my sister.

June 27, 2018 - Wednesday - TODAY WAS AMAZING!!! Riley got us a skydiving trip for my birthday and we went to do the jump today. We went a lot higher than I thought it would be and it was so much fun. I couldn't ask for a better gift than this! It was even better getting to share the experience with her. Technically, I didn't take this photo.

June 26, 2018 - Tuesday - I went into the office for a while today. I got out a little early and went to meet a couple of friends for drinks. I decided to have a late lunch when I got there. I took this while I was killing time.

June 25, 2018 - Monday - These are store bought tomatoes but they're still pretty sweet. I made this again for dad. He didn't remember it and he wasn't too impressed this time either. He suggested some grilled chicken or meat of some kind. Hahahahaha

June 24, 2018 - Sunday - My brother's garden is finally producing some tomatoes. He gave me these the other day and I finally got around to making another Caprese Salad today. This is so much better with good tomatoes.

June 23, 2018 - Saturday - I spent part of the day looking for a 3D app for my new iPad. I spent the rest of the day taking a floor plan I drew in Illustrator and building it out in 3D. By the end of the evening I had the house I designed almost completely rendered and ready to create the illustrations I want to do next.

June 22, 2018 - Friday - Drove back to Dallas for work and stayed for dinner with a friend. The meal was good, dessert was better, but the company and conversation was the best part of the whole day. Stopped along 35 heading home and took this one.

June 21, 2018 - Thursday - I haven't purchased one of these is years. I got the disposable kind just in case I choose not to do this again. Tomorrow morning my face will be as smooth as a baby's bottom and/or possibly cut to shreds. My hands don't work like they did the last time I shaved with a razor.

June 20, 2018 - Wednesday - Went to dinner after work to let traffic die down. It didn't die fast enough so I went back into the office to do some clerical work that I would have done when I got home. I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and then stopped again to take a few photos out here in the middle of nowhere.

June 19, 2018 - Tuesday - Got out of the office a little early, but not early enough to miss traffic. I guess it was timed just perfect because I stopped at Target and ran into another friend I've not seen in a really long time. Went out to dinner later and our waitress looked just like the girl from Brave. She wasn't offended when I brought it up either.

June 18, 2018 - Monday - The birthday celebrations haven't stopped. Though today wasn't planned it was good to spend lunch with another good friend and to get out of the office for a little while. Still can't get over how many important and dear people I've got to see and spend time with over the last seven days.

June 17, 2018 - Sunday - Happy Father's Day! I spent the early part of the afternoon with Riley having a late lunch and cake again. I came home and had dinner with dad and a bunch of other family. This has been an extra special week, maybe one of my best birthday weeks full of lots of friends, family, food and fun.

June 16, 2018 - Saturday - Got to see another friend and her family while celebrating my namesakes 2nd birthday. I found a copilot for him that might be a little taller than him too. It was also another reason/excuse to have cake again for the sixth day in a row. This has been a good week.

June 15, 2018 - Friday - Got to see another friend and her family for lunch today. This was part of the birthday gift I got from her. This might be one of the best cigars I've had in a really long time. It had such a great, smooth draw. I enjoyed it with another friend and his family celebrating his daughter's birthday. Another great day! Another great night!

June 14, 2018 - Thursday - These last few days I've been freelancing at my old job with another friend. We got out for lunch and had a little bit of a continued celebration. Tonight I get to spend with Riley, her BF, another friend and two of his daughters who are my God Daughters. It's been years since I've seen one of them. So excited. This has been a great week.

June 13, 2018 - Wednesday - Met another friend for dinner after working today. This birthday thing is working out pretty well. I've had a chocolate dessert of some sort every day this week so far. I think I'll try to see if I can stretch this out the rest of this week! It's good to have a goal to strive for.

June 12, 2018 - Tuesday - Birthday festivities continue though the week. Tonight I had dinner with a friend. Because of medical conditions neither of us should drink much anymore so we shared an Attitude Adjustment. Since I've not had a drink of any kind in about a month this felt really strong.

June 11, 2018 - Monday - After all the fruits and vegetables I've eaten the last few days. I am making up for it with the sugar content of this slice of Linda's Fudge Cake!!! Happy birthday to me! This is the first birthday I've spent with family in a very long time. It's really nice being so close to so much family now. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight after this.

June 10, 2018 - Sunday - I woke up this morning and made a frittata with a potato crust for breakfast. The morning light in the kitchen is kinda nice. It's good to be functioning again. Being able to be productive, useful and enjoy cooking again not to mention not hurting is a much better way to spend the weekend.

June 9, 2018 - Saturday - Today I went and did a bunch of grocery shopping. My basil is growing like crazy but still no tomatoes from my plants or my brother's. I couldn't wait any longer and I was completely disappointed by these tomatoes from the grocery store. This wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't as good as it could be. Can't wait for some home-grown tomatoes.

June 8, 2018 - Friday - I got out of the office early again today. I was welcomed home by a bunch of the chickens. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Today was my last day freelancing and I'm going to miss working at that location. It made for a nice drive to and from work.

June 7, 2018 - Thursday - I got out of work a little bit early today. I had plans to meet Riley after work for dinner but since I got out so early I stopped by her new store and had some of my favorite ice cream. This is strawberry ice cream with brownies and chocolate fudge mixed in. This was so good.

June 6, 2018 - Wednesday - I was in the kitchen earlier today and happened to glance up at the lights. I thought this was quite clever.

June 5, 2018 - Tuesday - This place I'm freelancing at has some pretty nice spaces. This is outside and I suppose on a nice day it's a pretty cool place to sit out and relax. It was a bit hot and humid to be outside after this morning's rain.

June 4, 2018 - Monday - On my way home today I stopped at this field to take a photo in the setting sun. I expected the corn to be taller.  There were no cobs yet so I guess there's still quite a bit of growing still to do.

June 3, 2018 - Sunday - Today my dad, sister and I went to Taylor, TX for my Great Aunt's 90th birthday. We stopped at a little Mexican place in Hillsboro on the way out. We didn't see they had menudo on the menu until we had already ordered. We got a little sample and unanimously decided we should stop on the way home for a a full bowl for dinner.

June 2, 2018 - Saturday - Got out this afternoon to run some errands. I took my sister with me so she could show me where this little country store was located. She told me about a big BLT, homemade breads and fried pies and I thought I needed to check this out. This soft, fluffy whoopie pie came with my BLT combo! It's a good thing this place is not real close to me.

June 1, 2018 - Friday - One thing I've learned working at this location is that people who live out in the country are not completely crazy. My commute both to and from is about an hour but it's only a little bit of sitting in traffic and then 75mph down the highway. Driving to my friend's in Plano is about 50 minutes of stop and go, mind-numbing, aggravating traffic.
