May 30, 2018 - Wednesday - My afternoon snack today was a large orange. If this had been cold it would have made this one of the better oranges I've had in a long while. So sweet and juicy. I'm eating a lot of fresh fruit, especially oranges for my gout. It really seems to help.

May 29, 2018 - Tuesday - There was a road runner here just a moment ago. They're quick just like in the cartoon. Here's a question, what were roadrunners called before there were roads? And can roadrunners fly? Seems weird to call anything an any kind of runner if it can fly. I've got to go Google that now.

May 28, 2018 - Monday - I took this photo on the drive back from my brother's house after dinner. Yes, I live next door, and though I'm "walking" quite a bit better today, it's still too far to walk. That and I was stuffed. I still feel very sorry for all of y'all who don't get to eat his ribs on a regular basis. Y'all are really missing out.

May 27, 2018 - Sunday - Today a bunch of the family came over to dad's to visit and straighten up a bit. Even better they brought a really large amount of menudo and homemade tortillas. I haven't slept well in quite a few days because of my knee so shortly after this photo was taken I was fast asleep on the couch. When I woke up everyone was gone. Hahaha

May 26, 2018 - Saturday - A long while back dad pulled out mom's old cane for me. It really helps a lot on days when I'm not walking so well. Today was definitely one of those days. My knee is quite a bit bigger today than it was yesterday.

May 25, 2018 - Friday - Today was a really good day. Went to the office for a while and finished up lots of projects. Riley picked up lunch for us and brought it to the office. We got to visit for a while too. After work I got out to see a good friend who found a great patio to meet and have a good cigar. Stopped by Riley's work to have an ice cream on my way home.

May 24, 2018 - Thursday - Drove back into Dallas today to do some work and to see my dr. This morning my left knee looked normal but by lunch it had swollen quite a bit. That aside today wasn't too bad, but that walk from the parking garage to the doctor's office seems much longer than it should be.

May 23, 2018 - Wednesday - I thought I'd give this thing another go. I've had it since 2005, I think, but have used it only for iTunes for the last 6 years or so. It starts but only shows a flashing folder with a question mark. I guess I got my money's worth out of it.

May 22, 2018 - Tuesday - For dinner I had the last of the "rabbit food" as my dad calls it. Today wasn't the best of days. I right foot was just beginning to stop hurting over the weekend but I woke up this morning and my now my left foot decided it didn't want to work anymore. Frustrating.

May 21, 2018 - Monday - I tried setting up my old home computer that I've used for years just for iTunes to run my Apple TV. It wouldn't start. The most important things were my movies and tv shows that were saved on an external hard drive. I spent a big part of the day copying the files to this smaller, portable hard drive for my laptop.

May 20, 2018 - Sunday - I was watching a replay of the Denver/Panther's Super Bowl. Does someone at the NFL Network watch their channel. The whole game they have this scroll repeating the 100-61 players from their show Top 100.  It covers the game's info. At no time can you see the score, time, quarter or down and distance. Come on NFL Network.

May 19, 2018 - Saturday - Made this for Dad and I and another big bowl from my brother's house next door. When I would make this at home it lasted almost a week. As good as this is and as much as I like it, it's nice to know I won't be eating this for a week. It was a hit next door too.

May 18, 2018 - Friday - Spent some of the day working remotely. Other than that it was a nice lazy day. Dog kept me company for most of the day too.

May 17, 2018 - Thursday - Today I spent quite some time grocery shopping with my sister. We decided to get stuff for this Greek Chicken Pasta and the salad I make with fruit. This is the first time I've made this for my family. My dad really liked this one. The warmer weather makes this a great idea.

May 16, 2018 - Wednesday - I worked through lunch today knowing I was driving back home today. I was hoping to get out ahead of traffic but I wasn't so lucky. Or was I? I decided to kill some time at my favorite pho restaurant and let some of the traffic die down. It still was a long drive home but I had a belly full of pho.

May 15, 2018 - Tuesday - A friend and I used to meet for lunch about every six weeks but for lots of reasons we've not met in almost a year or so. She's had so much going on, both really good and really sad, like me, so there was lots to get caught up on and lots of stories to tell. It was good to get caught up.

May 14, 2018 - Monday - On my way to work this morning I came up to these three eating "something". I thought they would fly off when I got closer, but since I was pulling up slowly to this stop sign one of them decided he wasn't going to walk away from his breakfast. The other two were chicken. There was quite the aroma when I rolled down the window to take this photo.

May 13, 2018 - Sunday - For over a decade our family has gotten together on Mother's Day to do a whole bunch of yard work at mom's. Since she's passed we've kept up the tradition. It really keeps dad's spirits up knowing how much mom liked to have a nice yard. One of my nieces bought roses for all the moms here and some for mom too. We kept them on the table outside.

May 12, 2018 - Saturday - I got up this morning to run some errands. On my way back home I came upon this guy. Fortunately we weren't going the same direction for long. I found out later he delivers bales of hay in the neighborhood with this every so often and this is part of his delivery route.

May 11, 2018 - Friday - Look who's visiting again. I was sitting in the lobby of our office this morning for a bit and heard knocking on the window next to where I was sitting. I got up to see what it was and this one was sitting on the rail. It flew over to my car and landed on my side view mirror like Monday.

May 10, 2018 - Thursday - Worked for a little while today and then ran an errand with Riley and her BF's help. I love that even though I've moved really far I still get to see her almost once a week. Today we went to IHOP for a mid-afternoon breakfast. My sister told me lemon water is supposed to be good for gout.

May 9, 2018 - Wednesday - Today wasn't a very interesting day and I ended up not going into the office. I did have to get up really early. I offered to take my friend and God Daughter to the airport this morning. He lives in southwest Ft. Worth and was flying out of Love Field. It was a long drive, but great company.

May 8, 2018 - Tuesday - Driving home I stopped to get a photo of this cow stretching through the fence to get to the grass on the other side. It looks just as green on both sides but what do I know. It stopped eating when I started taking it's photo. I guess I'd stop too if someone started photographing me while I was eating.

May 7, 2018 - Monday - Parking my car this morning at work a cardinal, maybe not this same one, came and landed on my side view mirror. It stayed long enough for me to get a few photos with my phone. A little later while sitting at my desk I heard knocking on the glass behind me. I've heard this is supposed to signal a visitor who's passed. Mother's Day is this weekend.

May 6, 2018 - Sunday - I'm back in Dallas for a couple of days at least. I helped my friend put together some chairs for her patio this evening. Her little garden is quite productive already. Her tomatoes are quite a bit ahead of mine as well. I think the tomatoes I have are Romas, but honestly I don't know.

May 5, 2018 - Saturday - My brother and sister-in-law have really been busy this Spring.  Aside from their really big garden full of all kinds of veggies, they've planted lots of herbs and flowers in pots all over their porches and patios.

May 4, 2018 - Friday - I'm still having a bit of an issue with my foot so I made a frittata for dad, but I didn't make it with the potato crust. That adds quite a bit to the prep and cook time. Dad doesn't usually wake up hungry and he had seconds so I think he really liked it. Wait until he tries it with the potatoes!!!

May 3, 2018 - Thursday - Drove back home today and just before bed we got a call that the chickens needed to be moved from the pen to the coup where it's safer. So another first for me here in the country, herding chickens. Some were very easy and cooperative, but others, not so much.

May 2, 2018 - Wednesday - Last week a couple of us at the office had the idea for a Happy Hour to reunite with some of us from the our recent lineup at the office. It was shocking that they all could make it. It was good to see all the faces again and get caught up. Even better we met across from Riley's ice cream shop so I got to see Riley too.

May 1, 2018 - Tuesday - Drove back into Dallas today. I was tired all day and I didn't take a photo at all. It wasn't until the end of the evening when I was about to turn off the lamp and go to sleep that I realized I needed a photo.
