September 29 2018 - Saturday - Today as I was getting dressed for a friend's mom's funeral I couldn't help but think of the day we laid mom to rest. So many friends who were there for me, my nieces, nephews and Riley who spoke the night before at the visitation, my sister's eulogy, my cousin's gift and my dear friend who sat with me all are good memories.

September 28, 2018 - Friday - Got out of work a bit early but traffic was still crazy. Took two hours to get home. I got home while the sun was still up so it's not that bad. I picked up dinner and went and sat with my cousin out by his place. This is one of the chickens we get eggs from. I read the other day that people who take care of chickens are chicken tenders. Hahaha.

September 27, 2018 - Thursday - I went to get pho yesterday for lunch. I picked a few of these from their candy dish on the way out. Riley really likes Dum-Dums. Hope I see her soon and I really hope I don't forget them.

September 26, 2018 - Wednesday - Met a friend after work today for dinner. I'm doing pretty good not drinking hardly at all. I had a sip of my friend's wine and decided to have a glass of my own. Do you ever have one of those days where if you had a whole bottle of wine in front of you, you'd drink the whole thing? This glass tasted like that!

September 25, 2018 - Tuesday - It's been a long while since I've driven this direction on this highway. The sun was going down and it looks like God missed a spot while He was painting the beautiful sunset.

September 24, 2018 - Monday - Today we hit the ground running at work. I got out for just a little bit to pick up some pho for me and one of my coworkers. I decided to try the vegetable pho this time. It was really good and colorful, but I think I like the chicken noodle soup version best.

September 23, 2018 - Sunday - After that horrible Cowboy game I spent more time on the couch doing some other freelance work. I caught the end of Roman Holiday. Vertigo came on after. Who doesn't like a Hitchcock/Jimmy Stewart movie? I think I like Rear Window more but then again it has Grace Kelly.

September 22, 2018 - Saturday - Had to go into the office today. We have a ton of work to do this coming week and we need a head start. After work I had to drive into town to pick up some prescriptions and groceries. When I came out the power lines were full from one end of the parking lot to the other with these little ones hanging out in the drizzling rain.

September 21, 2018 - Friday - Worked a little late tonight and getting home took a long while with the rain coming down in sheets at times along the way. I had to stop for gas and decided to go in add some of my own money to the pot. When I got home the ground was completely dry. But not for long.

September 20, 2018 - Thursday - Went out with a couple of friends from the office after work.

September 19, 2018 - Wednesday - Met a friend for dinner this evening. We had this for dessert in spite of what the scale said at my doctor visit earlier today.

September 18, 2018 - Tuesday - So this office stray, who's been my photo of the day a few times over the years we've been at this location, was out while I was leaving. It has gotten used to people so it didn't run off like it used to. I called to it and it just hissed at me and laid down in an empty parking spot. Dumb cat. hahahaha

September 17, 2018 - Monday - I'm back in Dallas this week freelancing. I decided to start watching The Americans from the beginning. I watched this when it first came out and got through the first two seasons. Looking forward to seeing how it all ends.

September 16, 2018 - Sunday - My knee has been giving me issues for the last couple of weeks. Some days more than others, but today I spent some quality time on the couch watching the Cowboys beat NY. That's not really saying much, but a win is more fun to watch than a loss.

September 15, 2018 - Saturday - To hear my little sister tell it I was a mean brother because I wouldn't let her watch the Brady Bunch and made her watch Buck Rogers. She was in town last week and coincidentally I came across the show last Saturday. She didn't want to watch it with me. Tonight I caught the end of this episode after the Texas/USC game. Go Longhorns!

September 14, 2018 - Friday - I went to have pho for lunch the other day and saw a few of these growing out front. How crazy do these blooms look? I came back today for lunch with my camera and this was the only bloom left. Not sure what it is, but it reminded me of the weird lillies I had at my old house that only bloomed for a fews days in the fall.

September 13, 2018 - Thursday - While I was walking out of the office today I saw this little one making his way along the handrail. I could barely see it's body and antenna, but by the time I got my camera out of my bag it got all camera shy and tucked itself away.

September 12, 2018 - Wednesday - Driving to a friend's house the sun breaking through the clouds looked so nice. It's rained off and on all day but was quiet sunny at times. I wasn't able to get a shot of it until I got there. I am so thankful for the cooler weather this last week or so.

September 11, 2018 - Tuesday - I went out to lunch with a friend from work. She picked a Chinese place and this was my fortune. I hope this doesn't mean I'll have to wait a month to get paid. Hahaha

September 10, 2018 - Monday - I start out a lot of texts like this. It's also an alternate for "hello" for me too. I saw this as I was leaving the office this evening. I'll be freelancing this week again in Dallas.

September 9, 2018 - Sunday - My brother smoked a brisket for dinner because my little sister came into town for a few days. I know I've talked about his ribs before but his brisket is on point as well. This was so tender and thankfully he doesn't mind my sneaking a little preview before serving. A little quality control never hurts.

September 8, 2018 - Saturday - Woke up this morning and my wonderful friend made avocado toast with poached eggs for breakfast. I know I posted almost this same photo back in June but these are so good. I need to make these for dad. I think he'd like them.

September 7, 2018 - Friday - My friend and her mom got back in town today, but my car was idling rough so I ended up taking it to the shop and staying another night here. We went out to dinner early in the evening at a fish place. I ordered a grilled chicken po-boy because I don't like seafood. This is for my fries. First time to sit on a patio the season.

September 6, 2018 - Thursday - This week I'm dog sitting for a friend and her mom. This is her mom's dog Abby, a Great Pyrenees mix. I slipped and called her Grace several times. It's a lot of fun being around a big dog again and she's really well behaved except, like most children, when her mom's around.

September 5, 2018 - Wednesday - One thing I really miss being out in the country is pizza delivery. Not that I think Pizza Hut is the end all be all, but it's nice when you don't or can't cook and you'd like to eat something hot. Anyway, I'm dog sitting the rest of the week and I took advantage of being alone in town and order some pizza.

September 4, 2018 - Tuesday - Drove to a friend's house to do some dog sitting over the rest of the week. Work called and asked me to do a little bit of work so when I was done I began to look into what I hope will be my next trip with Riley. We've talked about it already and I hope to stand here one day and take a photo a lot like this.

September 3, 2018 - Monday - My brother made his ribs and brisket today for our Labor Day get together. When I walked in my sister-in-law asked me to make the guac. I took a photo of it but honestly when we all sat down to eat the meal it didn't cross my mind to take a photo of the real star of the show. My brother's bbq makes me sing my "I'm happy eating" song every time.

September 2, 2018 - Sunday - Had to leave last night's get together kinda early to pick up stuff for bruch at a friend's this morning. Not to mention it being a long drive and an early start to get there on time. Got to get to know one of my friend's family quite a bit better today. They're really funny and a lot like my family too.

September 1, 2018 - Saturday - Went to dinner in Dallas to meet some friends, one who was visiting from out of town. She was saying how my photo of the day has changed so much since I moved out to the country. Yes, not a lot of zebra, camels or wide open spaces here in town. I took this while we all were walking to get a drink somewhere else.
