April 29, 2019 - Monday - Today was a much more laid back day compared to the last three. My friend and I spent the day grocery shopping and sitting at a bar getting caught up just the two of us. She had to work this evening so I got to spend quite a bit of time riding around the city seeing the sites. Found this place to relax and watch the sun set.

April 28, 2019 - Sunday - These last three days have been so full of great experiences and people from morning to late at night. I've walked more than 12 miles and have seen so much more of the city both during the day and at night on a bike. I cannot express how grateful I am that the arthritis has been mostly a non-issue. Still three days left!

April 27, 2019 - Saturday - My friend had a performance today and had to leave very early. She let me sleep in. I rode a city bike to the train station and went to meet her. Today was one of the best unexpected surprises I love so much about traveling, I got to see my friend's sister too. I also got to participate in a bit of their performance too.

April 26, 2019 - Friday - My friend met me at the train station in Antwerp. Sat and talked for a long while then had a bit of lunch. We initially were going to go for a short walk around the park but ended up walking quite a long way around the harbor and to the top a one of their museums. We stopped for fries on the way back. Complete with mayonnaise.

April 25, 2019 - Thursday - This was taken just as I was approaching Montreal. I have a bit of a layover here and then on to Belgium. I've not seen my friend there in over 25 years. It should be a great reunion.

April 24, 2019 - Wednesday - Today after work I went to meet the couple of friends I have dinner with from time to time. Unfortunately we haven't seen each other in months. It was a good time as always. When I got home I saw this on the TV. Come on Riley, seriously? I raised you better than this!?!?!?!

April 23, 2019 - Tuesday - Went to meet a friend for dinner. We actually just had Happy Hour appetizers for dinner. These deviled eggs were really good. Or course, if you put a little bit of bacon on anything it's almost always an improvement. We had a table in a corner on the patio out of the rain. Nice place to watch the rain come down.

April 22, 2019 - Monday - This cat is such a sweet cat and she's beginning to develop a much better relationship with her sister, the big, hyper dog. I think here, she's really enjoying seeing her play outside.

April 21, 2019 - Sunday - I asked the girls at work if they still get Easter Baskets from their parents. They're both around Riley's age. They do. I got this together with a little help from my sister's and brother's left over candy bags. It's just a little something for my little girl who's not really so little anymore.

April 20, 2019 - Saturday - As an early Easter most of my brothers and sisters had breakfast together out here in the country with dad. The rest of the day wasn't planned but it turned into lunch and dinner together and then s'mores by the fire for dessert. Last Easter was such a great time with most of the family. This year was great too, but in a different way.

April 19, 2019 - Friday - I find it a little bit funny that this sign is not only posted but necessary. It's on the fence around the new temporary walkway at work. It still amazes me that so much work needs to be done in this area and at most there's occasionally 7or 8 people working here from time to time. I can see this area from our office too.

April 18, 2019 - Thursday - I don't use recipes for anything I make. I have grocery lists but that's about it. Each time I make something its usually just a little bit different. Tonight was just the right amount of salt and the perfect amount of sage. The little sprinkles of cayenne pepper was just right too. I think I may have my mojo back! Maybe.

April 17, 2019 - Wednesday - Today we were told we could leave early if we were worried about the crazy weather that was predicted. We all stayed until our normal time and I took this on the roof of our parking garage. I was supposed to meet a friend for dinner but we canceled because of the "weather." I only got rain and it didn't come until 1am.

April 16, 2019 - Tuesday - This evening after work I went out to see one of my God Daughters play softball. She told me in advance her team wasn't very good, but it was still a lot of fun to go out to see her play. Even better was getting to spend some one on one time with her at dinner. She has some cool shoes.

April 15, 2019 - Monday - Once I get something "food related" on my mind it stays there for some time. Usually long enough for me to get to the point where I feel I work out some of the variables. This is best with thinly sliced tomatoes, but I'm still trying to get good at making poached eggs. Or at least make them with less of a mess.

April 14, 2019 - Sunday - Postmates had free delivery from Roti Grill today when I was looking for lunch. This is my favorite dish there. Not in the picture is the naan I ordered with this. I love that I can get this at home!!! I rewatched the last couple of episodes of Game of Thrones in preparation for the final season premiere tonight.

April 13, 2019 - Saturday - I made a frittata this morning. No potatoes. It was really dark and rainy this morning and our kitchen with only one window made this look a bit blue. Regardless of the overcast color this was delicious.

April 12, 2019 - Friday - I stopped by the grocery store the other day and picked up stuff for this. We got out of the office a little early. I came home and did a little cleaning and then made dinner. The early evening light is kinda nice in the kitchen, there's just not enough of it.

April 11, 2019 - Thursday - These guys were on our building the other day. They're across the way from us now. I'd love to do this once. Preferably while being a contestant on The Amazing Race.

April 10, 2019 - Wednesday - There's an lone cone up on the parking garage. Sometimes I come out and it's on my car. Sometimes I come out and it's on my friend's car. Weird!

April 9, 2019 - Tuesday - We're a small group in our office though that won't stay that way much longer. One of the guys bought a blender for the the office and we all chip in for the ingredients. He and one of the girls here make really good smoothies that are fruity, delicious and supposedly very healthy too.

April 8, 2019 - Monday - I put my newfound knowledge to work today for dinner. I made some avocado toast with the sourdough bread I got the other day and made poached eggs to top them off. This one barely survived the trip from the pot. Wish I had better/more natural light in my kitchen and some tomatoes.

April 7, 2019 - Sunday - This morning I drove out to dad's to do some work in his garage. We debated building a fire today because of the threat of rain but decided to give a go anyway. It was a lot more work getting the fire going because of all the rain they had yesterday, but we persevered. Before long we had a good one burning and only got rained on a little.

April 6, 2019 - Saturday - Of course I didn't buy just one of these on my little road trip!!! Today was purposefully, really uneventful. Well except for this. My dessert was just as good as yesterday. I did spend some quality time on my bike to make myself feel like I earned it.

April 5, 2019 - Friday - I wasn't going to go all the way to Hillsboro and not stop at The Country Store and get some whoopie pies and sourdough bread. I got other snacks and goodies for my family too, but this is the most important stuff. I thought about this little piece of heaven all day at work.

April 4, 2019 - Thursday - I took a half day off work to go out to Burleson to run some errands with dad. It's always a good time hanging with him but today turned out better than I expected. Our errands became a mini road trip down to Hillsboro to have an early dinner. A girl at one of our stops had this cool paint job.

April 3, 2019 - Wednesday - I have been craving Italian food for a long time now. Especially since I had Italian while on my trip and it was pretty disappointing. Riley and I went to our old neighborhood after work to have dinner at Tony's. I got my usual and it was so good. We need to do this more often.

April 2, 2019 - Tuesday - I met my friend and her new little girl out for dinner tonight. This was her first experience on a busy patio with lots of people and other dogs. We sat on the perimeter and she did so good. She sniffed around for a while and then just relaxed She did spend some quality time in my lap getting extra pets and belly rubs from lots of new friends.

April 1, 2019 - Monday - Today we had an all day workshop at the office. We got out a little early for an office happy hour down at Ozona's. This guy was out here again wandering around. Today was a really good day at work and even better after. I have been really fortunate to have worked with more cool people than not.
