August 31, 2019 - Saturday - Today I spent the day at a friend's. I made guacamole, as usual. Another friend gave me a small travel humidor with a couple of cigars for my birthday a while back. I remembered to bring them along today. They did not disappoint. Today was a good day.
August 30, 2019 - Friday - Today is the first day of a four day weekend. Riley and I met a friend and her daughter for lunch. It was a great time getting to see them both, but I spent the rest of the day getting caught up on my sleep and I didn't take a photo of anything today.
August 29, 2019 - Thursday - Four years ago today I met these two for the first time and we spent the day at the Grand Canyon. It's been something else with these two. Especially with Pancake being so neurotic and Biscuit so pushy. Even from the beginning Pancake has been my favorite, something about her reminds me of Vegas.
August 28, 2019 - Wednesday - Today for the first time since we've been in this office we had not just one but two visitors to our window sills. Coincidentally, we also found out that one of our co-workers is not a fan of birds. Not sure if they are afraid of them or just a significant dislike.
August 27, 2019 - Tuesday - We had lots of rain and thunder last night. It woke me up several times. When I walked out my door I saw this waiting to attack me. Hahahaha I have a friend who is deathly afraid of these. If this was in front of her door she would have been stuck inside. This one patiently sat still while I took it's photo.
August 26, 2019 - Monday - Thursday evening I was grocery shopping when I got the news about my God Daughter. I had planned to make guac for the office Friday and was picking up all the stuff. That had to be delayed. This turned out really good even though I forgot the oregano.
August 25, 2019 - Sunday - These things are all over the place now. On every road trip I've gone on in every direction from home I've seen them. On the way out of town we had quite the conversation about how these work. It was especially funny one of the questions one of our passengers had about these. It was good for a laugh for quite a few miles.
August 24, 2019 - Saturday - A group of us left the hospital for an early lunch. A couple of us had a bigger breakfast than the others so we only ordered dessert. I went with the chocolate cake and shared it with my God Daughter's little girl. There was a Cancer Walk/Pub Crawl going on here so there was lots of people watching to do.
August 23, 2019 - Friday - I found out late last night that one of my God Daughter's is having some health issues. Fortunately, I was able to join my friend, his sister and one of my other God Daughters on a trip up north to go see her. We stopped in a small town when we had enough of a cell phone signal to book a room for the night. This was across the street.
August 22, 2019 - Thursday - Aside from really liking pho, I'm glad I took a photo of it today because I completely forgot to take a photo of anything else today. I got home early enough to watch Big Hero 6 and Bolt tonight before bed. Brave is next on my list.
August 21, 2019 - Wednesday - I was being a bit lazy made this childhood favorite for dinner, peanut butter and syrup on Mrs Baird's. I watched Beauty and the Beast. I remember seeing that movie in the theaters when I was in my early 20's with my friend that I visited in Belgium last Spring.
August 20, 2019 - Tuesday - I came back this weekend with a bunch of cherry tomatoes from my brother's garden. I was drawing a blank on what to make for dinner until it hit me. Duh. I've made this a million times. It's so much better with fresh, home grown tomatoes.
August 19, 2019 - Monday - I watched the original Aladdin last night when I got home. Tonight I'm watching The Aristocats. Some times I ask Riley what she wants to eat and she'll respond, "Creme de la Creme a la Edgar." My favorites in this movie are the dogs. I think they're the guys from Hee Haw.
August 18, 2019 - Sunday - This came in a holiday basket from a vendor several years ago. We've passed in around the office as a joke for a long while. This past week, we, the office as a whole, conspired and almost got an old coworker to walk out of the office with this. Then in a tragic display betrayal they managed to sneak it into my bag on Friday.
August 17, 2019 - Saturday - A week ago I mentioned that if I was going to eat bad it was going to be really good. THIS is what I was talking about. My brother is making ribs for dinner and I'm invited!
August 16, 2019 - Friday - After work I went home, had dinner and packed for the weekend. After traffic died down I drove out to my dad's. I stopped at this spot that I've stopped at so many times before for my photo of the day. The dead tree has finally lost it's crooked branch. Beautiful sunset tonight.
August 15, 2019 - Thursday - I had been watching a lot of documentaries and it all seemed so negative. I watched a lot of cooking shows and it just made me want to eat. I'm liking the idea of watching all the Disney movies again. I watched Atlantis last night and tonight after dinner with a friend I watched The Little Mermaid. It's been a long time since I saw this last.
August 14, 2019 - Wednesday - It rained last night and a little bit on the way to work. I got to work and saw the droplets on the hood. Thought I could get my Photo of the Day out of the way early in the day.
August 13, 2019 - Tuesday - I watched a documentary on Pixar this past weekend. It made me want to watch all the Disney and Pixar movies all over again. I'm starting with 101 Dalmatians. Pancake enjoyed it even though she's seen if before. I don't know what the big deal is with Disney's new "live action" movies. They remade this one in '96 with Glen Close.
August 11, 2019 - Sunday - My friend and his family returned early this morning. We had breakfast and then I went home. I got home, unpacked and then took a little nap. I spent some time cleaning and then some quality time on the couch with Biscuit and Pancake. Biscuit uses Pancake as a pillow quite often. I think they missed me.
August 10, 2019 - Saturday - Today is my last day of dog/house sitting. I watched a bunch of the British Baking Show today and I've wanted cake or cookies or something sweet all day. I found a DQ not too far from where I'm staying so I got out for an evening treat. Banana Split is my favorite Blizzard.
August 9, 2019 - Friday - My doctor would not approved of this and my sister, who can be a bit of a watch dog with my dad, would have a few things to say about this lunch. It was hot out and I didn't feel like walking out to my car and walked to a spot near the office. This was okay but I don't think I'd have it again. If I'm going to eat bad it's going to be real good.
August 8, 2019 - Thursday - One of the girls at the office has taken my other friend's place as my company for pho this week. I'm amazed that these are still blooming out front. That and they have so many
August 7, 2019 - Wednesday - I've started having long dreams again. I haven't "slept" enough in a few days. This morning I over slept and was running late. Driving in I was really hungry and I didn't want to be even later stopping to get myself breakfast so I picked up breakfast for all of us. Chicken Minis and tator tots for everyone!!!
August 6, 2019 - Tuesday - Some of the other groceries I picked up yesterday. I wanted something simple and easy.
August 5, 2019 - Monday - I came to my friend's to check on Poncho after work. After I let him out to do his business I went to the grocery store to pick up stuff for dinner. I wish I could get out to my brother's to get some of his tomatoes. These were okay, but not as good as ones from his garden.
August 4, 2019 - Sunday - I ordered a egg & cheese croissant sandwich for breakfast. I added these so I could meet the delivery minimum. I wasn't thinking. While these were really good as far as donuts go, I completely forgot what happened the last time I had more than one donut. I woke up in the middle of the night and my knee was call me "dumbass."
August 3, 2019 - Saturday - Today I made the mistake of watching Taco Chronicles. One it's all in Spanish so I had to pay attention the whole time to read the subtitles and two it was all about the people passionate about all kinds of tacos all over Mexico. Needless to say I had to find some and these were especially disappointing.
August 2, 2019 - Friday - Today the office was left with no supervision. I mean I was there and I'm the most senior by quite a lot and also the oldest by even much more. Today was also our intern's last day and one of the girl's birthday is tomorrow so we went out to have goodbye/celebratory lunch.
August 1, 2019 - Thursday - My friend's house has good evening light in the kitchen. I made myself a plate of veggies again for dinner. I was smart enough to buy enough to make this again another night. I added a bit of zucchini this time too.
