December 31, 2019 - Tuesday - We spent the day on the beach. It was a little crowded where we set down, but at least there was food and drinks there. I took a walk down to the empty part of the beach for a while. What a gorgeous day to even out my tan! This evening we went to a friend's to ring in the New Year. Today was a great way to end the decade.
December 30, 2019 - Monday - This time last year I was dog sitting for my friend and his family. This year they invited me to join them on their vacation. After landing and making the drive to our AirBnb we got out for a late lunch and then a walk out to the beach just in time for the sun set.
December 29, 2019 - Sunday - I had planned to have four days to get ready for my trip tomorrow. Working Thursday and Friday really made it a bit stressful. I had to pack and then pack all the dog's stuff and the dogs for a stay out in the country. Zak was a bit anxious but Biscuit and Pancake are like old pros. So glad my sister and dad could help out.
December 28, 2019 - Saturday - A friend and I had planned to go to the movies today to see Cats. We both heard not good things about it and decided to watch Knives Out instead. It was a really good movie. It stormed just after we walked in and there was one of the most vibrant rainbows when we came out as the sun was going down.
December 27, 2019 - Friday - The few of us in the office went across the street for lunch. I had breakfast tacos. I think I could eat breakfast for every meal. These were pretty good but not good enough to come here too often even though they're so close. Glad we're finishing up everything today and not having to work this weekend.
December 26, 2019 - Thursday - We're usually closed between Christmas and New Year's, but unfortunately we have a client with some urgent needs. Still reaping the rewards of our office While Elephant Christmas Exchange. This is one our our Archer mugs that's black until you put something hot in it.
December 25, 2019 - Wednesday - This morning Riley and I slept in. Zak was cooperative too and let me stay in bed a while. I spent most of the day watching The Walking Dead and Riley take photos and videos with her new camera. It was another good day relaxing at home. Merry Christmas everyone!
December 24, 2019 - Tuesday - This is the most recent addition to our family, EmaLee. She's still fairly new and has a bit of a mohawk like I do when I wake up. It was another great time with the family at our Christmas Eve celebration. I don't think she's going to remember much of her first Christmas.
December 23, 2019 - Monday - At the beginning of the year my friend and coworker suggested I do a Pho of the Day photo in addition the my Photo of the Day. This may be my last pho of the year, but it's my 96th pho this year. All but maybe 6 or 7 of them have been from I Love Pho on Forest. We're regulars here and it's one of the best I've tried.
December 22, 2019 - Sunday - When I said I had nothing planned this weekend I meant it. It was so good to take a good afternoon nap on the couch with all three of the pups. Biscuit and Pancake are starting to warm up to Zak. They don't trust him completely but it's getting better. He reminds me a bit of Shadow, kinda goofy like him.
December 21, 2019 - Saturday - Riley came in last night upset about what was going on in the latest season of The Walking Dead. We both stopped watching around the same time. I decided to pick up where I left off a couple of seasons back. Today amongst the dog walks I spent a lot of time binging the show.
December 20, 2019 - Friday - This is the first weekend in a very, very long time that I had nothing planned and nothing I needed to do. I usually require a bit of couch time to recharge, but I've had so much to do lately. I am planning to spend a lot of quality time with my couch and the pups. This was the only photo I took today.
December 19, 2019 - Thursday - Leaving work tonight there was another beautiful sunset. Sometimes I wish our parking garage was a bit taller.
December 18, 2019 - Wednesday - This morning the idea for tomato soup popped into my head so at lunch I got out and did a little grocery shopping. Considering I hadn't made this in quite a long time and I didn't have a recipe it turned out pretty good. I wish I would have thought to get stuff to make a grilled cheese. At least I had some warm bread to with it.
December 17, 2019 - Tuesday - I wished I would have watched this game!!! Last October Brees broke the record for Career Passing Yards. I watched that game. Yesterday he broke the record for Career Passing Touchdowns. I had to settle for watching highlights. Equally impressive he was 29 of 30 passing last night. 96.6% completion precentage! Another record!
December 16, 2019 - Monday - I brought some fruit the other day so today after work and a quick walk with the dogs I made apple cinnamon & brown sugar oatmeal for dinner. I might make this tomorrow too.
December 15, 2019 - Sunday - I took a quick day trip to Austin with Zak. I met a friend for lunch and then some cousins later for dinner. Zak did pretty good for his first time out in public until some other dogs showed up to patio where we were having lunch. We'll have to work on that. You can tell by my back windows that I own a dog.
December 14, 2019 - Saturday - Today was a very full, fun day. I went to a nephew's baby shower. I don't get to see him too often since he lives in San Antonio. From there I went to see a friend's little girl's recital. It was fun to see all the little kids with so much talent. I finished the day helping my aunt make menudo for her grand daughter and my dad.
December 13, 2019 - Friday - We had a white elephant gift exchange yesterday. This was the gift I brought, a hot chocolate kit complete with marshmallows and Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. I managed to steal it back for myself, though I'm willing to share. Swiss Miss tastes okay, but the Godiva definitely makes it a lot better.
December 12, 2019 - Thursday - I was just bragging about Zak yesterday. He did so well being loose in my room yesterday I decided to leave him loose all day today. This little lion was in my photo of the day on October 12, 2010. I have no idea where he found this. A friend gave it to me years before then. This thing was full of little beads that were all over my floor.
December 11, 2019 - Wednesday - I got out of work a little early to head out to Dad's. We're getting together for his birthday. I stopped along the way to get a photo of the landscape in the setting sun. There were a few interesting things out here but the clear blue sky fading to orange was the best part.
December 10, 2019 - Tuesday - I had taken another photo today but on the way home I saw this and decided it was at least more interesting that the other photos. I always feel bad for dogs when I see them with one of these collars. He seems to be staring at the lady in the car next to him. I bet she has food.
December 9, 2019 - Monday - This is the result of our Christmas Ornament shopping tradition my friend and I started yesterday. She took it out of the bag, put it on my dashboard and named him Dominick. I think here it will stay for the remainder of the Christmas season. It was a little creepy at first but I've gotten used to him staring at me.
December 8, 2019 - Sunday - Yes, I know I've taken a lot of photos of Zak but give me a break, I've missed having a large dog and and this guy is pretty cool to have around. We have been able to spend the last two mornings relaxing and bonding on the couch. I got my photo of day out of the way early today!
December 7, 2019 - Saturday - Today was a very full day. I left some stuff our at dad's last weekend so Zak and I went for a ride out to the country to meet the family out there. Found out that in addition to Biscuit, Pancake and cars, Zak is also afraid of calves. I would imagine he would be afraid of full grown cows as well. Better a bit of a chicken than an aggresive dog.
December 6, 2019 - Friday - Today I didn't take a photo of anything except trying to get a selfie with Zak. He really goes nuts around food but then again he's pretty thin and needs to fatten up a little. He's adapting really well and catching on to our routine pretty quickly. I think we're learning his personality too. Biscuit and Pancake don't care. Still.
December 5, 2019 - Thursday - This is Zak. He's why I've been to the Plano Animal Shelter so much lately. Riley's been talking about moving out later in the spring. I would need to a dog of my own then. Just thinking about getting a dog was too much and I couldn't wait. I found him the first time I went to look. He's a bit anxious but I think we're going to be best friends.
December 4, 2019 - Wednesday - Biscuit and Pancake are out of food and my Chewy.com delivery doesn't come until tomorrow. I stopped by Pet Supplies Plus on the way home. I was standing in line and this little guy was in line behind me. I bet he doesn't like to be brushed. Looked at his racing stripe.
December 3, 2019 - Tuesday - One of Riley's coworkers adopted a dog from an event at North Park. I didn't get all the details but Riley went to pick up this girl today while her friend was at work. This is Sophia and she has the calmest and sweetest temperament. Biscuit and Pancake were not fans but I would like to steal this one! She was really soft too.
December 2, 2019 - Monday - After work I went to see a friend I haven't seen in a long while. The sun was going down as I was approaching I35. Fortunately there was very little traffic here and I was able to get this photo. My friend wanted to go to Home Goods and I ended up get some new stuff for our upcoming new roomie.
December 1, 2019 - Sunday - I spent the night out at dad's yesterday after our late Thanksgiving. My brother has a bunch of new babies. Lots of calves and a few goats. Apparently these two are becoming good friends.
