July 30, 2019 - Tuesday - Today my affianced, henna-ed friend and I went to a nearby Thai place for lunch. I ordered a yellow curry dish that came with this side of rice. By the way, I watched the real Lion King when I got home after watching the live action movie Saturday. I also watched it tonight at my friend's house with his daughter who was seeing it for the first time.

July 29, 2019 - Monday - She said, "Yes!" All the girls in the wedding party all got some henna done. It wasn't "our" wedding, it was a wedding she attended this past weekend and it wasn't me she said yes to. She's smart, pretty funny and a great part of the cool group of people I work with. I'm just lucky enough to work with her.

July 28, 2019 - Sunday - Spent the day with good friends, sharing a meal and lots of good times. Someone made a big bowl of really good guacamole. Ending the evening with a couple of good friends and a good cigar was just icing on the cake. It's been a really good weekend, in spite of the movie yesterday.

July 27, 2019 - Saturday - In my early 20's I went to the theater with a friend to see the original Lion King. In September of 2011 I went to see the 3D Lion King with the same friend. (It was my photo of the day then.) We both felt obligated to see the new "live action" movie together. Personally, I'm disappointed almost to the point of being angry.

July 26, 2019 - Friday - It's been a long week. When I got home and took the dogs for a quick walk. I got back and turned on the TV and this was on. Iron Man with a bra on his head. Hahahahaha This is still a great movie.

July 25, 2019 - Thursday - Back at work today and though we're really busy at work my friend and I were able to get out for lunch. I need to keep my sodium intake in check and though this is kind of high in sodium I can't live without it. It's got to be medicinal, I always feel better walking out of here.

July 24, 2019 - Wednesday - I was texting a friend today and this was the only photo I took today.  I'm smiling because my doctor came in early and gave me good news and I was going to be leaving soon. They sure do wake you up early at the hospital. They came in and took some blood around 6:15 or so. Spent the rest of the day at home catching up on my sleep.

July 23, 2019 - Tuesday - I went in today to have my procedure done. This is the view from my room later in the evening. Everything went better than expected except waking up before they were done. That was "uncomfortable" to say the least. Fortunately I don't remember it too well and if all goes as planned I won't be coming back for a very long time.

July 22, 2019 - Monday - Had a big plate of vegetables for dinner tonight. Riley showed me this one a while back. It's pretty simple and really delicious. A bit of olive oil, garlic and a pat of butter in a skillet with a bunch of green beans and broccoli. Finish it with the juice of one big lemon and some Parmesan.

July 21, 2019 - Sunday - This is the little cow that was my photo of the day a while back. He's doing so good now. He used to be so skittish, but now when we walked into the pasture he came running over to us jumping around and very excited. Apparently he thinks everyone on two legs should feed him.

July 20, 2019 - Saturday - Woke up early today and made some apple, cinnamon oatmeal. It turned out really good. I spent most of the day with friends celebrating one of their birthdays. It was a great time spent some great people .

July 19, 2019 - Friday - Went out to lunch with my friend from work for his birthday. He picked a cajun place and ordered some of these oysters. I'm not a fan of seafood at all but I agreed to give them a try. I will admit that though I don't think they're amazing, they were really good, especially with a shot of Tabasco.

July 18, 2019 - Thursday - Nine years ago I had only barely started this photo of the day project. This photo was my photo of the day nine years ago from Mom's birthday party in 2010. She's been on my heart so much the last several days more than usual since  her birthday the other day.

July 17, 2019 - Wednesday - Any time I'm on the couch these two have made a habit of lying on me or at least near me. It's not so bad they do keep me warm too.

July 16, 2019 - Tuesday - This is one of my favorite summer dishes. I miss being near my brother's garden to get his fresh tomatoes. They're better than anything you can get at the store. I've also managed to keep a small basil plant alive in my kitchen window for a couple of weeks.

July 15, 2019 - Monday - Coming home from work I realized I hadn't taken a photo for today. I took the dogs for a walk and saw this little bloom. I went back and grabbed my camera to take this photo. Today would have been Mom's 75th birthday. She loved roses. I miss her and I can still her call me, "mijo."

July 14, 2019 - Sunday - I guess this is becoming a Sunday routine. I planned it much better this week and picked up tomatoes too. I wish I had more natural light in my kitchen but the morning light is kinda nice. This turned out really good too.

July 13, 2019 - Saturday - I spent most of the day with a friend I don't get to see as often as I used to. Living farther south makes dinners during the week a bit of a trek. We went out for lunch, dinner and a quick visit to InSync to see all the cats. We spent some time at her house too. Her baby is so big now and spent a lot of quality time in my lap.

July 12, 2019 - Friday - My second missed photo of the year. I don't remember what was going on but apparently I was otherwise occupied.

July 11, 2019 - Thursday - Somehow I gained 4lbs. since yesterday??? I went to see my primary care doctor and I think her scale is wrong. Today nothing much else happened. I remember sitting on the couch with Pancake and then Biscuit came and sat on top of her to lay on my lap. I took a quick photo before shooing her off Pancake.

July 10, 2019 - Wednesday - I'm just getting caught up on my photo of the day and honestly I have no recollection of what I did today other than going to my rheumatologist's office. I was hurting a bit yesterday but the day I see my doctor I feel completely fine. I shouldn't complain but it's a bit frustrating.

July 9, 2019 - Tuesday - I picked up stuff to make this dish again, but this time without chicken. I'm trying to eat less meat overall and so I tried this with just mushrooms. It was good but I completely forgot to pick up some sage. I think next time I'll try it with zucchini too.

July 8, 2019 - Monday - The guy who makes the smoothies at the office has been out of the office quite a bit and we've all been sadder not having our afternoon smoothies. I don't know if it's because I miss them so much or if he just turned out a really good batch this time, but this one was really good.

July 7, 2019 - Sunday - Today is my baby's 23rd birthday. It's weird with her not being here. The US Womens team won the World Cup today just for her I'm sure. Rose Lavelle might be my new favorite player. She's been pretty amazing in this competition and has had moments of complete awesomeness!

July 6, 2019 - Saturday - I wish I weren't so lazy. Sometimes. This turned out so good but I didn't have any tomatoes and that would have made this even better. I really should have gone to the grocery store first since I need lots of other stuff too but... well I was just being lazy.

July 5, 2019 - Friday - This little old man is Billie, one of my friend's pets. He's mostly blind and deaf so it was surprising that when I was taking his photo he woke up from his nap. He looked like he was smiling with his tongue sticking out. He's a funny little guy.

July 4, 2019 - Thursday - I had lot of fun, meeting a bunch of new people at a party today. I guess it wouldn't be a complete 4th of July party without some grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. I haven't laughed that much or that hard in a while. I left a little early to see Riley before she leaves for her trip early tomorrow.

July 3, 2019 - Wednesday - I made avocado toast again for the first time in a while. I decided to go with and easy over egg rather that poached. Poached eggs are just messy. I wish I had better bread bu this turned out really good anyway.

July 2, 2019 - Tuesday - These are blooming again outside the pho place my friend and I go to. These are so weird but so beautiful too.

July 1, 2019 - Monday - I went to meet a friend for dinner after work. I got there quite a bit before she did and ordered some guacamole while I waited. This was good but the jalapeños definitely had quite a bite. Every so often your mouth would be on fire for a moment.
