November 30, 2020 - Monday - Back in May I got a double yolk egg for the only the third time ever. I had two back in 2010 when I started this collection and I guess it's tradition now to make it my photo of the day. This little egg sandwich maker is one of the best kitchen gadgets I've ever purchased. I can make my own Egg McMuffins.
November 29, 2020 - Sunday - I don't know why but Dumbo was never one of my favorites. About the only thing I remember about this movie is a line or two from the crow's song. I seen a peanut stand, heard a rubber band, I seen a needle that winked its eye. I seen a front porch swing, heard a diamond ring. As a kid I thought those lines were funny and clever.
November 28, 2020 - Saturday - After seeing a couple of Disney movies on the list of movies from the 40's and 50's I decided to go back and see what other Disney movies that weren't on the list. I add Pinocchio and Dumbo. Tonight I watched Pinocchio. I remember as a little kid in elementary school we would watch safety cartoons with Jiminy Cricket.
November 27, 2020 - Friday - Another one of my friends got a new puppy today! Last time this happened I ended up getting Zak. We went on a drive out to Waco to pick up this little guy. I'm not a big fan of small dogs but this little Yorkie puppy is pretty darn cute. I think she's going to name him Winston.
November 26, 2020 - Thursday - Our big family Thanksgiving was considerably much, much smaller this year. I guess it's for the best but I sure did miss seeing all the family. Dad found some old photos in a drawer a while back and I used an app on my phone to photograph a bunch. This is mom and dad with me quite a long time ago.
November 25, 2020 - Wednesday - I met my friend and coworker for lunch for our usual pho. After lunch we decided to head back to the office for a glass of Single Barrel to kick off the holiday weekend. Walking into the office I joked that I liked going into the office solely for the purpose of having a drink. Not to work at all.
November 24, 2020 - Tuesday - Zak has been super needy since I got home yesterday. I was pretty busy with work today, but when I was done it seems even Pancake missed me as well. Toward the end of the afternoon, she came and laid in my lap and took a long nap while I watched The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Humphrey Bogart plays crazy really well.
November 23, 2020 - Monday - I hung out with my friend's on their patio for a while when they got back from their trip. While we were talking about their vacation and how Doji did over the weekend we were visited by a few different lizards of various sizes. I don't think I've ever seen one this small. It was about the size of a stamp.
November 22, 2020 - Sunday - Today was a much more relaxing day at home for the two of us. It's been a since Shadow in 2004 that I've had a puppy. I forgot how much work they are. She likes to chew on stuff and hide when she's having an accident. And when she's not going full speed she's sleeping like this.
November 21, 2020 - Saturday - This is Doji, my friend's newest family member. She's about 10 weeks old and has crazy sharp puppy teeth. I called her Cujo a little bit this weekend. Today was a big day for her. We stopped by my house to get some stuff then met a friend and her poodle for walk in the park and dinner on a patio. She was so well behaved.
November 20, 2020 - Friday - I met a friend for lunch on the patio of this restaurant. I'm heading to his place after to dog sit for him for the weekend. He has a new puppy and I was sure today's photo of they day would be of her, but he suggested a photo here. I'm glad I took this one because the next two are of the puppy.
November 19, 2020 - Thursday - Who doesn't like a good Jimmy Stewart movie? I think this is only the second time I've seen this movie and it's a great one but he has so many really great movies. It seems only right that he has a classic Christmas movie as well. Miracle on 34th Street is next on my list.
November 18, 2020 - Wednesday - I spent all day working at home today. This morning Riley and her BF went out for coffee and snacks. She brought me a cookie/muffin thing that was delicious and a cup of hot chocolate. This place's branding is right in your face bright. Riley even bought herself a sweatshirt. I like this sleeve that was on my cup.
November 17, 2020 - Tuesday - I spent the whole day in the office today. I actually ended up working a bit late on top of it. My friend and coworker bought me an early thank you gift, a bottle of Single Barrel that came with a glass. I'll be dog sitting his new puppy this weekend. When I got to the bottom of my glass I noticed this. I hope to see it again soon.
November 16, 2020 - Monday - Last night was the coldest I've ever spent outdoors. Zak did a good job helping the sleeping bag keep me warm. Down here by the river it gets light quite a bit before you see the sun come over the hill. Zak and I walked down to the river for this beautiful view a few times this morning. He's been such a good boy this trip.
November 15, 2020 - Sunday - I've been thinking of taking Zak camping for a while. Given the his disposition in the past I was worried he would be terrible but I hoped for the the best. I can't believe he was better behaved that I could have hoped for. Last night we relaxed by the fire. Today we had breakfast, went for a walk, shared a late lunch and another evening by the fire.
November 14, 2020 - Saturday - I got everything packed this morning and started out for Broken Bow. I stopped by my friend's to see their newest family member, Doji. I had Zak with me and within a few minutes she was chasing him around. We got to camp just in time to set up my tent before it got dark. It was perfect weather for a drink and cigar by the fire.
November 13, 2020 - Friday - This is the last photo I'll take with my iPhone Xs Max. My new 12 Pro Max is supposed to be delivered today just in time for my trip tomorrow. I went in to talk to Riley for a bit and Pancake was sitting there so pretty. Today was very busy, finishing work, lunch with friends, Dad's to get my camping stuff and still to pack and make stew.
November 12, 2020 - Thursday - These are just some of the files I've built over the last couple of days. It's a long list that I finished today along with the first round of client changes for a meeting tomorrow morning. It was a lot of work doing 4 promotions at once even if they were simpler than some we've done it the past. By the end of the day my brain was tired.
November 11, 2020 - Wednesday - My list of old movies has quite a few I've seen before and this is definitely one of my favorites. I've been really busy with work the last two days so I only watched some of this last night and finished it tonight. I watched The Maltese Falcon yesterday evening and it has three of the same cast. Ingrid Bergman was a big improvement.
November 10, 2020 - Tuesday - There are two animated movies on my list of 40's movies to watch. I'm going to admit Fantasia was kinda hard to sit through. Bambi was much better. Thumper was always my favorite. He has a good sense of humor and I use his "Look what I can do!" line all the time.
November 9, 2020 - Monday - On my way home last night after dinner I did a little grocery shopping. I do some of my best shopping when I'm not hungry! This morning I had a good breakfast with some really fresh avocados and tomatoes. I was a little distracted when I started and the toast got away from me a bit. Fortunately that part is covered in avocado.
November 8, 2020 - Sunday - Tonight I was invited to a friend's Sunday family dinner. Someone else made guacamole and they had a bottle of Jack there as well. It's nice to be a part of another family that has such good taste. Even more so it was great to spend another evening with friends that are like family and one of my God Daughters.
November 7, 2020 - Saturday - Today I got out to run a few errands and then went over to my friend's house for the evening. It's been a long while since I've been here to visit. He's added a firepit to his backyard and I must admit I think I'm going to copy this idea. It was a great night out around the fire with drinks and s'mores and friends!
November 6, 2020 - Friday - Tonight I watched a couple of movies. I decided to work on movies from the 40's and started with The Philadelphia Story. I had no idea Katherine Hepburn was such a pretty young lady. I remember her from Rooster Cogburn with John Wayne. I came across The Kid with Charlie Chaplin after. It's from 1921. HBO Max has some really great old movies.
November 5, 2020 - Thursday - I was talking with my friend last night about the old movies I've been watching. Tonight I watched Rebel Without a Cause. In the last several days I've seen High Noon, A Place in the Sun and To Catch a Thief. She suggested I watch the movie her grandmother was in. It was from the 40's so I made a list of 40's movies to watch.
November 4, 2020 - Wednesday - I met another friend for dinner tonight. The three of us has only been the two of us for a while now with our third friend being in Houston since the pandemic started. Our dinners aren't the same without him, but the company is still quite entertaining. We had dessert tonight.
November 3, 2020 - Tuesday - After being stuck at home for most of the last few weeks I went out to visit a friend after work. She was excited that the DQ in her area finally opened again. We picked up a little treat and then went for a walk in a park in her area. We ended up walking almost 2 miles. It was a nice walk but a bit too much too soon.
November 2, 2020 - Monday - This morning I woke up feeling almost completely pain free. What a great way to start the day. I had a little breakfast, rode my bike for a bit and then did a little work. I went in to the office for a little while and then picked up pho for Riley and I for a late lunch. I need bigger bowls if I'm going to start eating this at home!
November 1, 2020 - Sunday - I started watching the CNN show Movies on HBO Max. It covers all the great movies by decade. It really made me want to watch a bunch of movies I've never seen and some I just want to see again. I haven't seen Cool Hand Luke in forever so I started with it. I made a list of movies from the 50s and 60s. It should keep me busy for a long while.
