September 29, 2020 - Tuesday - One of my tomato plants has grown like crazy but hasn't produced hardly and tomatoes. I noticed this single tomato growing on it this morning. Right now it's about the size of a quarter. I hope it gets a lot bigger and is companied by a lot more of them. Everything is doing better in this cooler weather. Even my oregano bounced back.

September 28, 2020 - Monday - I was up quite late tonight and at one point came into the kitchen and found this crawling across the floor. All I could think of was Gary from SpongeBob. I scooped him up on some old junk mail and let him run free outside. Judging from the trail it came from under the dishwasher.

September 27, 2020 - Sunday - I finally found the sweet spot on my stove to get my pancakes to turn out the right golden brown. After sleeping late for the first time in a long while, this turned out to be a really great start to the day.

September 26, 2020 - Saturday - Today after going to the park with my friend and his family I gave his daughter a ride back to the house.  Thankfully she's small and light. She described the ride as,"Just like a car, but more bumpy. And no air conditioning. And sweaty." It was a beautiful day to be a cab outside.

September 25, 2020 - Friday - After I met a friend for lunch I met my friend and coworker in the office to get a little work done and to share a drink. This may look like a heavy pour but there are two large ice cubes in there. It was nice to sit in the office again having a drink. The only thing that could have made it better would be to be with all my other coworkers.

September 24, 2020 - Thursday - In the last couple of days the young squirrels that chase each other around the tree out front have begun daring each other to come and climb the windows of the house. This little one was a little more cautious than the last but sat here long enough from me to grab my phone and snap this photo before Zak scared it.

September 23, 2020 - Wednesday - I walked out this morning with Zak and everything was covered in dew. This bush is by the back gate were I go to take the poopbags to the trash. I've taken a lot of photos from the backyard lately. It's nice to get my photo of the day out of the way early.

September 22, 2020 - Tuesday - I have a few more roses growing outside. I'm so thankful this rain is not accompanied by thunder. Zak doesn't mind coming out even thought it's sprinkling as long as there's no thunder.

September 21, 2020 - Monday - I saw this growing out in front of the house. Its a mushroom of some sort I guess and it's the size of a baseball. It looks like something has been eating at it and I have no idea what all the sparkly stuff is all around it.

September 20, 2020 - Sunday - I walked out this morning with Zak and saw this. It's the first bloom on the red rose bush this fall. Sadly the white rose bush appears to have died completely. These make me think of mom.

September 19, 2020 - Saturday - Today I missed yoga. I've been having issues with my hands and wrists for a while now but up until today it hadn't kept me from it. I did however go over to my friend's anyway. We had another great day grilling, smoking cigars and a drink or two. It was a little to cold for me to get in the pool.

September 18, 2020 - Friday - Whatever this bush is in my backyard it is making a big comeback with this cooler weather. These purple "blooms" are all over the place and even larger than before.

September 17, 2020 - Thursday - I started watching Game of Thrones again. Arya is my favorite character in the show. Well maybe it's a tossup between her and Tyrion. It's crazy to see how much she grew up during the show even though I think she'll always look like a little kid to me.

September 16, 2020 - Wednesday - I walked out this morning with Zak and saw this growing in the yard. It's just as big as the one from the other day and tall enough to get this bug's eye view. Kind of reminds me of the shade things in Sundance Square in Ft. Worth.

September 15, 2020 - Tuesday - I have a friend who's been in the hospital for a little while. They make you check in, get your temperature taken and you get a bracelet. There is also only one route you can take once you're in the building so it's quite a long walk to get where you're going. Glad she's finally home.

September 14, 2020 - Monday - I made these a couple of weeks ago and Riley was a fan. I decided to make them again. I made a pot of beans when I made the carne guisada the other day. Today for lunch I made refried beans with sausage and cheddar. I made them a little different than last time and they turned out a little bit better. Practice, practice, practice.

September 13, 2020 - Sunday - I took this photo to send to a friend to show her how much my tomatoes have grown. After killing the original plants in my raised bed I planted the few remaining plants I had grown from seeds. These little tomatoes were already on the plant and they didn't get any bigger and only just now turned red.

September 12, 2020 - Saturday - Today was another great day. Another challenging yoga class this morning, then breakfast, burgers and hot dogs for lunch, then cigars and drinks around the pool. Later in the afternoon we went with my friend's family out to get snow cones and to the park for a while. Yogi is such a well-behaved dog. Ended the day with cigars by the pool again.

September 11, 2020 - Friday - I'm so happy for Riley. BrainDead, the restaurant where she works has finally been give the go ahead to open completely. They've had the patio open for the last week or two, but today was the first day to open the interior. I went by to get some dinner to go. Their Thick & Morty Burger is my favorite.

September 10, 2020 - Thursday - Today was surprisingly chilly. Walking out with Zak this morning I was shocked that I was actually cold. I met a friend for dinner and was able to get a table on their rooftop patio. It was a good idea while the sun was still up but not so much later though the view was kinda nice.

September 9, 2020 - Wednesday- I was watching some cooking videos on YouTube. One thing led to another and I found several on Carne Guisada. I finally got around to it tonight. I'm going to chalk this up to beginners luck because this turned out really, really good. The green salsa was the perfect finish. Just wish these were one of my sister's homemade tortillas.

September 8, 2020 - Tuesday - I made some roasted potatoes last night for dinner. After our status meeting today for work I decided to make a late breakfast. I've had Ziziki's brunch on my mind for a long while. This only reminds me more of that. Had I given this a little more forethought I would have had a mimosa or two with this.

September 7, 2020 - Monday - I found this in the back yard this morning when I took Zak out. I was going to make an omelet for breakfast with the left over roasted potatoes. Maybe I'll try it with this mushroom too. Hahahaha. Yeah, I'm just kidding.

September 6, 2020 - Sunday - Riley participated in Okrapalooza today. This was Riley's entry, a pastry filled with an okra scramble. I don't like okra but these were really good. I had three. So proud of my girl!!! I got to help her serve her entry and it was really cool to see her do what she loves. Even more rewarding was seeing people treat her like a grown up.

September 5, 2020 - Saturday - I made kabobs and roasted red potatoes for dinner. They turned out good but I over baked the kabobs and the chicken was a bit dry. I've been putting off buying a grill until this unemployment thing is over but I'm really rethinking that decision. These would have been so much better grilled.

September 4, 2020 - Friday - Today I met a friend for lunch. We had a few of these for dessert and we each got to take some home. I love Nothing Bundt Cake and my favorite are the red velvet. We had a several different flavors to choose from today. The lemon are also very good.

September 3, 2020 - Thursday - Sometimes when I lay on the couch Pancake will come and lay on the pillow next to my head where she can be near me. Today she was laying there and I can still see a little bit of Vegas in her eyes. Now that she's finally coming out of her shell she's becoming a little bit spoiled.

September 2, 2020 - Wednesday - Riley ordered some Chinese food for us for dinner. I'm not even sure what "advancing socially" means exactly, but I like the fact that it won't require any special effort on my part.

September 1, 2020 - Tuesday - 10 minutes before I took this photo I went outside to get a shot of the sky getting dark and the sun still shining on the houses in the foreground. Within a few minutes it was pouring. Thankfully for Zak's sake there was no thunder with this storm.
