February 27, 2021 - Saturday - Today started off pretty rough because of my arthritis, but I had plans to meet a friend in Waco. I've not seen her in over a year and going that far you know I had to make a stop at my favorite Amish store. They had lots of chocolate whoopie pies!!! It was a little out of the way but not far enough for me to not go.

February 26, 2021 - Friday - I got in my car for the first time since Monday the 15th. I was a little worried it might not start. I was even more worried I wouldn't get to meet my friends for lunch and I'd miss out on a big, steamy bowl of pho. Fortunately the car started and the heater worked just fine.

February 25, 2021 - Thursday - Look what came in the mail today! Just in time for my Rheumotologist appointment next week. One of the perks of being employed again.

February 24, 2021 - Wednesday - I've been having some issues with my arthritis lately and have been spending lots of the evenings on the couch. I'm almost done with my list of movies from the 70's and tonight I couldn't put off The Exorcist any longer. Pancake kept me company so I wouldn't be too scared! She was so calm. Kids are so desensitized these days.

February 23, 2021 - Tuesday - In other good employment news, Riley got offered a part time position as a pastry chef at another restaurant. She'll be able to work both positions and she's excited about strengthening her baking skills. I can't tell you how many times I've told her, "If you see any chocolate cake bring me a slice." This is the first time that's happened! Perks!

February 22, 2021 - Monday - This past week has been my first week back as an employed person. I think there's something funny about my first day being a holiday and the next two days I'm almost useless because I had no power. The last few days I've spent working on a few videos for a presentation. Today was a long day but the work turned out really nice.

February 21, 2021 - Sunday - This is the face you make when a coworker flips out at dinner, falls on the table and then has an little alien burst our of their chest. Be careful which of your coworkers you have dinner with! I've almost finished my list of 70's movies. I've been putting off The Exorcist for a while. If you have any suggestions for 80's movies send them to me.

February 20, 2021 - Saturday - I've been putting off this 70's movie for a while. It Solaris from 1972. It's really long and slow. The opening scene is a guy walking around behind a barn. He stopped and looked at these plants in the water's edge for like 10 minutes. Also it's in Russian so you have to watch it the whole time to read the captions. All three hours of it.

February 19, 2021 - Friday - These are my neighbor's bushes. They're right under the eave of her roof where the snow is melting. I thought it looked really cool in the bright sunlight. I'm so glad we're getting warmer finally. It wasn't so bad for us. We only were without power for the basically a couple of days. So many had it so much worse.

February 18, 2021 - Thursday - This is the first time in a while that I've seen the squirrels out running around. I wonder where they kept warm these last few days. Zak was excited to see them again too. He's finally learned to not bark at them every time. Now most times he just growls a bit.

February 17, 2021 - Wednesday - Today I went out to look for something a bit more interesting to photograph. My yard is quite small and I really couldn't find much of anything. While I was looking Zak kept running back and forth. I could hear him trying to open the gate. Thankfully he couldn't. I got this one of him while he was running my way.

February 16, 2021 - Tuesday - Our electricity has been out most of the day. I was able to charge all my stuff and Riley is using my laptop to watch movies. I used my iPad. I have a bunch of Photo's memories on it and a handful of movies. Zak was being a heated armrest while I watched Captain Fantastic. Really great movie with a good soundtrack.

February 15, 2021 - Monday - This is what happens when you don't prepare to be without electricity properly. We have plenty of food but only stuff that needs to be cooked. I had to get out and do a grocery run. The lines in the store were crazy long but they opened one just as I was going by so I was in and out in no time.

February 14, 2021 - Sunday - This is what I woke up to this morning. Walking out this morning to let Zak out I saw my neighbor's roof. Zak also figured how to open the gate this morning. He wandered away for a bit, but by the time I got on my shoes, sweatshirt, grabbed my keys and some treats he was back at the front door. He's not so clueless after all.

February 13, 2021 - Saturday - Before all the crazy weather gets started I went to visit a friend. I made a big bowl of guac. We had a drink or two. This was the splash of water with a good poor of Single Barrel before giving it a little swirl. We watched Raising Arizona with his son. It was his first time to see it. Great movie!

February 12, 2021 - Friday  - Breakfast for dinner tonight. I was quite busy with work today so some quick, simple avocado toast for dinner fit the bill. Love it when the avocados are just right like this with great creamy color and no bruises.

February 11, 2021 - Thursday - I've heard about American Graffiti and have seen clips of it but had never seen it until tonight. It was okay but I don't see what the big deal was except that it had a lot of famous people early in their careers in it. Maybe it was like Dazed and Confused for the earlier generation. Another movie with lots of future famous people.

February 10, 2021 - Wednesday - This was the best part of the day today. I had to get out and run an errand for work and decided, much to Zak's delight, to take him with me. After a quick stop I took him to Whataburger for a Breakfast on a Bun. He sure does look happy doesn't he.

February 9, 2021 - Tuesday - Since I'm watching movies from the 70's I went ahead and got this one out of the way. Like so many people everywhere this was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Now I'm going to have to wait until I finish all the movies from the 70's to see what happens next.

February 8, 2021 - Monday - Today I was watching some old cartoons on HBO Max. I came across a few of these. Some of you might remember Sniffles from long time ago. I remember being in elementary school and watch Cartoon Carnival in the morning before school. It was funny to see cartoons that I remember from so long ago.

February 7, 2021 - Sunday - With so many holidays and traditions messed up these past several months at least I still got to enjoy my brother's ribs this year for the Super Bowl. I even made a big bowl of guacamole for our little get together. I realized this year also that it wasn't Tom Brady that I disliked, it was the Patriots.

February 6, 2021 - Saturday - Today I was laying on the couch and Biscuit and Pancake already got next to me. Zak was being a bit jealous. He laid at the other end of the couch and wiggled his way around near me. When he finally came to a stop this is where he ended up. He can be kind of needy sometimes.

February 5, 2021 - Friday - Since I'm watching movies from the 70's I decided not to go in any particular order. I came across this classic and watched it today. It's crazy what they could get away with in front of kids in the 70's. This also has one of the best soundtracks.

February 4, 2021 - Thursday - Pancake has taken to laying in this spot on top of one of the back cushions of the couch. Coincidentally it's also right in front of the best spot on the couch to sit and watch TV. I was laying down for a bit today and took this of her watching whatever is on the TV.

February 3, 2021 - Wednesday - I had the backdoor open today and as I walking past Zak notice the sun shining on him. Fortunately he stayed where he was while I got this photo of him. He's a knucklehead sometimes but he's a handsome boy.

February 2, 2021 - Tuesday - Today I got out for lunch with my friend and coworker at our favorite pho place. It was good to get out of the house for a bit, but even better to get a warm bowl of pho.

February 1, 2021 - Monday - Today I spent a lot of time retouching a bunch of photos we took yesterday. Yesterday I tried a lot of these cookies for the first time. The Banana Cream Pie was such a surprise! But then so was the Stuffed Carrot Cake and the Strawberries and Cream. There's no way to pick a favorite.
