April 29, 2022 - Friday - My good friend, his son and I went for a quick weekend trip up north. I don't know exactly what the reason for the trip was but I was invited and didn't ask too many questions. It was just good to get away for a short while. We left around 6p and it was only a little over an hour away.

April 28, 2022 - Thursday - I was working a little late this evening and realized I hadn't take a photo today. My camera was here on my desk and so I took this. Riley gave me these two guys from The Office and the little panda came all the way from China from a friend who went to pet them.

April 27, 2022 - Wednesday - As usual lately, Pancake is by my side while I'm sitting on the couch. Her little mohawk isn't what it once was but it's still fun to fluff up. Plus she sits still for it too.

April 26, 2022 - Tuesday - Biscuit was on the couch rolling around on her back near me today. I don't know why her eyes look all crazy when she's on her back but I thought I'd get a picture of it. If she rolls over enough her lips flap open and you can see how crazy her teeth make her look too.

April 25, 2022 - Monday - I don't drink very often at home. I still have a few beers left from the six pack I bought a couple of weeks ago. Tonight I had another. I do love a good cold Shiner every once in a while.

April 24, 2022 - Sunday - I spent some time at my desk doing some work today. This is one of the rocks I have on my desk. I got this one on the beach by my friend's house during my last trip to California. We walked down a bunch of steps to get to that beach. Even more impressive we walked back up a bunch of steps to get back to the car.

April 23, 2022 - Saturday - I woke up quite motivated today. I did some cleaning and laundry. I did a bit of cooking and some work out in the yard. At the end of the day I came to sit on the couch and watch a movie. Zak was relaxing in the corner of the couch and I got this photo of him in the evening light.

April 22, 2022 - Friday - You know how some people are neat and organized but their desk or workspace is messy. Usually that's me. My desk, which has been my coffee table for the last couple of years is usually messy. My new desk is now quite clean. So is my coffee table. I have this collection of rocks from trips I've taken in the last few years.

April 21, 2022 - Thursday - I don't know why but the two girls have been so affectionate for the last few weeks or so. Any time I'm on the couch they hurry to climb in my lap or lay next to me somewhere. I'm not complaining it's nice to to have little heating pads nearby.

April 20, 2022 - Wednesday - Our trio that meets for dinner is looking like it can finally start happening as a trio again on a regular basis.  Our one friend is going to be in town more often. It was good to see them especially since they thought my unemployment was an elaborate April Fools Day prank and they wanted to hear "the truth".

April 19, 2022 - Tuesday - I went out to grill some chicken the other day and saw that these are growing again in the yard. The little icon in my Photos app says these are Iris... Irises?? When I went out this morning I saw that a few of them had opened. This one is a little bit in the shade of a tree. I hope the Orange Lilies come back too.

April 18, 2022 - Monday - My new computer was finally delivered today. I had my desk set up and ready to get it going. I transferred all my stuff from my laptop to it and within a few hours I was up and running. It's weird working on my own stuff at a desk again after years of just using a laptop.

April 17, 2022 - Sunday - Today I was invited to spend Easter with friends. It wasn't just great company either. Our host made quite the spread and it was all delicious. I don't remember what this was called but it was so light and refreshing. We had cookies for dessert too! Happy Easter my friends.

April 16, 2022 - Saturday - This evening I was watching some TV and as usual Biscuit and Pancake came and got in my lap before Zak did. He'll come look and pout a bit and lay at the end of the couch or go to his bed here in the living room. After a few minutes the girls moved and he jumped up and got in his favorite spot. I love this knucklehead.

April 15, 2022 - Friday - I'm not sure what I did today, but for that last couple of weeks as soon as I sit on the couch, whether I'm working on my laptop or just watching TV, Pancake comes and jumps over to my right side and keeps me company. She's usually asleep within a few minutes. Sometimes I am too.

April 14, 2022 - Thursday - Today I met a couple of friends for lunch. Now that I'm not so busy I need to make my way up here to get pho a little more often. This is great stuff. Good company helps too.

April 13, 2022 - Wednesday - My early evening snack today was Sparkle All Over Bakery's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Walnut and Pecan cookie. I have a few left and I think this might be my third favorite cookie of hers. We need to discuss this becoming a permanent item on her menu. Just look at all the stuff in this cookie. So delicious!

April 12, 2022 - Tuesday - Today I went to get a haircut. It seemed like I was okay one day and then the next day my hair crazy shaggy. It's amazing how much gray there seems to be here but when it's still on my head it doesn't look nearly this gray. Maybe it's just the proximity of my white beard.

April 11 2022 - Monday - When I was picking up groceries the other day in preparation for having a grill Riley wanted me to pick up some hot dogs too. So that's what we had for dinner tonight.

April 10, 2022 - Sunday - Today I finally broke in the grill with Riley. We had steaks and baked potatoes for dinner. I'm a little out of practice grilling and it will take a little getting used to this new grill.

April 9, 2022 - Saturday - Quite a while back I bought a grill. I've either been busy, not feeling so great or just being lazy so it's been aging in the box. I spent a big part of the afternoon outside today putting it together. It was a beautiful day to be outside. When I was done I got it in my head that a cold beer sounded like a great idea. I wasn't wrong.

April 8, 2022 - Friday - Today we had another shoot for Sparkle All Over. It can't express how great it is to have a client with an amazing product who is also a tremendous human being. After dealing with a client who is an absolute idiotic pain in the ass for the last year it's great to be able to focus on these products.

April 7, 2022 - Thursday - I ordered a new desk a while back to have more room for the new monitor and laptop I had for work. Today I finally put the desk together. My new computer is not a laptop so I need a place to work instead of the couch where I do a lot of my work when I'm on my laptop. Pancake keeps me company a lot too.

April 6, 2022 - Wednesday - After returning my work computer I came to the conclusion that it's time for a modest upgrade. My personal laptop is a bit dated and very limited when it comes to doing video and animation. I ordered a new computer and a couple of accessories. These came in today. My computer will be coming later this month.

April 5, 2022 - Tuesday - Biscuit has a grumpy face 90% of the time. Hahahaha

April 4, 2022 - Monday - Today I didn't do too much outside of returning all my work equipment back to the office. I spent some time on the couch this evening and it always makes me happy when Biscuit and Zak lay down next to each other. Still waiting on Pancake to warm up to Zak.

April 3, 2022 - Sunday - Today I spent the day on the couch for the most part. Distracting myself and turning my head off by watching some feel good TV. This guy helped a lot too. Just chilling on the couch with me mostly just laying in my lap.

April 2, 2022 - Saturday - Third miss of the year.

April 1, 2022 - Friday - Today I woke up to my last day of work with the company I've been with for the almost 10 years. The 9th of this month would have been my 10 year anniversary. Instead I'll be looking for a new place to hang my hat. Tonight I met my friend and former coworker for a drink and a cigar. Thankful for the company tonight.
