February 27, 2022 - Sunday - Maybe you need bad to appreciate the good, the dark to show the light. Maybe not having something makes having it even better. Is this as amazing as I think it is or is it just that it's temporal? Some thoughts while enjoying the rare, Dark Chocolate Cherry Walnut cookie. I think it's my absolute favorite from Sparkle All Over.

February 26, 2022 - Saturday - Today we had another shoot for Sparkle All Over. She introduced a new cookie for a promotion, the Margarita Cookie. It's delicious as is, but of all her cookies I've tried warmed up this one is probably the one whose flavor changes the most. I don't know why but it's crazy amazing warmed up

February 25, 2022 - Friday - I wanted to get at least one good shot of Riley's roses before they begin to wilt. I was really busy all day today so when I finally got around to take this photo it was dark. I just moved the vase to the stove and turned on the light. Not too shabby.

February 24, 2022 - Thursday - I was taking some photos of Riley roses with my new camera and lens. I noticed one of the baby's breath bud had fallen into the vase. I managed to get this shot. I love the blurry green in the background.

February 23, 2022 - Wednesday - Riley came home today with a box that had a vase full of roses in it. It was her 6 month anniversary at work. Some of her coworkers wrote messages on the box. It's really cool to "hear" people from her work "say" nice things about your kid  and how she conducts herself at work.

February 22, 2022 - Tuesday - I have a screen shot in this collection way back on 12/12/12 at 12:12p. I had to do a screen shot on my phone since I didn't have my camera with me while I was at lunch. Today I took this photo of my phone. I had just one minute to get a good one.

February 21, 2022 - Monday - I spend most of the day on the couch finishing up some of the final details on my website. I looked over and Biscuit was sleeping on the couch blanket. Just behind her you can see Zak sleeping too. I'm so glad she is finally starting to accept him. Pancake is getting a little better too. She hardly growls at him at all.

February 20, 2022 - Sunday - I went to my friend's house again for dinner. We also went out to see a movie with his family. After we spent some time out by the fire with a good cigar and a drink. It was pretty windy and that kept the fire stoked most of the night. Good times with great people is a great way to spend the weekend.

February 19, 2022 - Saturday - I got this almost exactly 8 years ago today. I probably could have and should have taken better care of my old camera. I kept it in my backpack most everywhere I've gone. I think the adhesive was affected by the heat. I like the little sparkly momentos from one of my first shoots with Sparkle All Over.

February 18, 2022 - Friday - I was too busy yesterday to play with my new camera. I unpacked all my goodies and put the batteries on the changers. I then emptied my backpack of all my other camera stuff. I found this in one of the side pockets from our trip to Mexico in 2020. This new camera is a lot heavier than my old one.

February 17, 2022 - Thursday - I ordered some new toys recently. Actually this might be new tools rather than just toys. I had a meeting with my friend and cookie maker extraordinaire the other day and I'll be doing a lot more work for her on a regular basis. I mentioned this to Riley and she asked if I was going to make money or just buy more cookies. Fair question.

February 16, 2022 - Wednesday - I made roasted tomato soup again. This time I had a bunch more tomatoes, onion and garlic. And this time I didn't roast them quite as long. I used a bit more cream and maybe went a little heavy on the cayenne pepper. I love the bits of garlic and the little bit of heat at the end. I wish I had a bit of fresh bread to go with this.

February 15, 2022 - Tuesday - Tonight I met a friend out for dinner. We ended up mostly just getting some appetizers. These were really pretty and they tasted good but they were a little heavy on the mustard. The poutine in the background was pretty good too. Of course we followed up this with ice cream from the place across the way.

February 14, 2022 - Monday - My poor little baby. Instead of a kennel we keep the girls in the bathroom when were gone. The hamper cabinet is their "bedroom". There's happens to be an access door for the tub plumbing in there too. We're guessing something crawled out the of the wall and bit her. This happened Saturday evening. It's Thursday now and she's all better.

February 13, 2022 - Sunday - I went to a friend's house for dinner and to watch the Super Bowl. I made more guac than was necessary which isn't a bad thing. I didn't really care who won the game and I didn't dislike any of the teams more than the other. Not like when Philly was playing the Patriots several years ago.

February 12, 2022 - Saturday - This morning I was making breakfast. I found a misshaped egg in the carton. Kinda makes you wonder what the chicken looked like. I my head it looks like something from the Far Side.

February 11, 2022 - Friday - This makes my heart happy. Zak was sleeping with his head on my lap when Biscuit came and crawled in my lap. He whined and looked up at me like he didn't know what to do. I told him he was okay and to relax. He eventually put his head down and Biscuit didn't care at all. In a few minutes they were both snoring.

February 10, 2022 - Thursday - This is my last Death by Chocolate cookie. I shared some with a friend so I didn't eat them all. Of all her chocolate cookies this is my favorite. It's almost too rich for me to eat a whole one and that's saying something for me. Every once in a while her Dark Chocolate Cherry Walnut cookie comes to mind and makes me sad those aren't on her regular menu.

February 9, 2022 - Wednesday - Today I spent part of the day working on a video for a client's upcoming Easter promotion. They farm out some of the video work to another company and some of what we do is re-purposed use of some of those files. Sometimes I'm glad I don't have to do the animations. This wasn't one of those times.

February 8, 2022 - Tuesday - I went in to the office for the second half of the day. I spent some time with our new coworker showing her around our server and introducing her to our organizational process. I also took a head shot of her. We all have one taken in this same spot. I had to take a blank to use for some retouching.

February 7, 2022 - Monday - We have a new girl starting today at work. I had to get her computer all set up last week. Today a bunch of us met at the office to welcome her and help her get settled. When I finally got home I noticed this little bit of ice that is all that remains of the sleet and snow from last week.

February 6, 2022 - Sunday - I spent the night at my friends house last night. I finally met their new cat this morning when I got up. This is Phoebe. She was lying on her big carpet covered thing people buy for their for their cats. She used to be a bit more cautious. She just laid there and let me pet her today.

February 5, 2022 - Saturday - Today I went to my friend's house and from there out to dinner with with him and his wife. My friend who makes the cookies has a deal with this restaurant. Two of her Brookies are used in this ice cream sandwich dessert. With all this chocolate sauce it is delicious. Their frozen Old Fashion drink was really good too.

February 4, 2022 - Friday - Today was a long day of work. There's lots to do with our cake client and lots coming up for a new client we recently acquired. I know I just push a mouse around all day but when I was finally done today I had a big case of "tired head." I laid on the couch and watched the new season of Ozark.

February 3, 2022 - Thursday - Remember back in the day when there was bad weather and you'd get the day off? I tried to tell my team I was closing due to inclement weather and they just laughed. Eariler today the snow was coming down in big, fat flakes. I was busy at the time but got out here to get a photo of neighborhood under cover of snow and ice.

February 2, 2022 - Wednesday - Today before the weather got crazy a friend and I met for lunch at our favorite pho place. This is even better on a cold day. My friend had her baby in late December so today I got to hear all about her baby coming into the world. It reminds me of Riley's birth. I got to see some photos too. I almost wish iPhone cameras were a thing in '96.

February 1, 2022 - Tuesday - Every time I run out of cookies from Sparkle All Over I try to be good and not order another box the same day. After a few days future me always regrets this decision. Fortunately it only takes a few days to get more. Her new Cranberry Orange are amazing and you can't go wrong with Death by Chocolate!
