January 30, 2022 - Sunday - The last time I ordered groceries I order some bananas. I think I ordered 5. I don't know why but there two bundles in my order. There were at least 10 bananas. Even with Zak's help we don't eat that many bananas  before they go soft. Zak doesn't like them when they're too ripe either. Today I made banana chocolate chip pancakes.

January 29, 2022 - Saturday - I've been thinking of making this tomato basil soup for a few days. I roasted the tomatoes, other veggies and a big head of garlic and then dumped it all in the blender with a bit of honey and hot sauce. I think next time I need to add a bit more half & half and maybe roast the tomatoes a little less.

January 28, 2022 - Friday - Tonight I was getting ready for bed. When I walked into my room this is what I walked in on. He was laying across my pillows warming up my spot for me. Then he gave me these sad eyes so I wouldn't ask him to move. It worked long enough for me to take a photo then he had to scoot over.

January 27, 2022 - Thursday - Riley had off from work today. She was out running some errands. Around lunchtime she called me to invite me to meet her for pho. What a great idea that was. On a cool day like today this really hit the spot. Plus it was nice to just sit down and enjoy a meal with her even if she had to take some work calls while we ate.

January 26, 2022 - Wednesday - I had some work to do this evening. Zak came up to keep me company. One of the perks of having a large dog is he makes a great armrest and he's pretty warm. One of the downsides is he puts his face on my laptop and it gets a little messy. I swear it didn't look this way in person.

January 25, 2022 - Tuesday - Today at lunch I got out to pick up my prescriptions. I took Zak for a ride with me. With the cooler weather its okay to leave him in the car for a bit while I run inside. After, he begged me to take him to Whataburger for lunch. I thought he made a good choice. He looks pretty happy. We got lunch for the girls too.

January 24, 2022 - Monday - I ordered a bunch of groceries the other day. I ordered a bunch of mixed nuts, chocolate covered raisins and a small bag of these to mix together. It's become my go to breakfast when I don't have time or feel up to making something. Zak and I usually share a banana too.

January 23, 2022 - Sunday - Riley's not big on sweets which is really weird since she's my kid. The one thing that surprised me was how much she really likes these croissants with dark chocolate. After a couple of minutes in the waffle maker they get so crispy and even more buttery. I love them too.

January 22, 2022 - Saturday - Tonight I went to my friend's house for dinner, drinks, cigars and football. He made wings on the grill while his wife made all the sauces for them. I must say he had this down to a science. Today was a good day and watching the Packers lose added to it.

January 21, 2022 - Friday - This is my last Red Velvet Dark Chocolate Chip cookie from my Holiday Sampler. It makes the perfect late night snack. I'm going to have to order some more cookies. What to get next? I think I'm going to get the Chocolate Lovers Sampler. They are all favorites!

January 20, 2022 - Thursday - This morning when I woke up I was that it was in the 20's and was going to be cold all day long. I messaged some of the team about it being perfect weather for pho. One of them chimed in with Monkey Noodle King. So at noon today I found myself enjoying this. Keeping the cold out.

January 19, 2022 - Wednesday - I've done quite a bit of grocery shopping over the last couple of days. I have meals planned for the next few days. The one thing I did not take in to account was leftovers and the fact that Riley's going to be gone for a couple of days. I made a pot of beans tonight and was going to make breakfast tacos tomorrow. Maybe not.

January 18, 2022 - Tuesday - Riley's friend and coworker must really like Riley. She told him how much I liked the drink he gave her for Christmas. She walked in the other day not with a bottle but a big jug of this stuff. I need to ask her what it's called besides really amazing. What a generous kid!

January 17, 2022 - Monday - I went to meet a friend for lunch and then we went looking at furniture. With all I did today I didn't take a photo of anything until later this evening while I was cleaning and replacing the brushes on my rumba. Inside I found this lone piece of sparkle from one of the many boxes of cookies I've ordered from Sparkle All Over. Literally it's all over.

January 16, 2022 - Sunday - Today we had another shoot with Sparkle All Over. We're preparing for Valentine's Day already and introducing the Sampler dozen and an all new product, the 4-Pack. It's an affordable, perfect-sized package of deliciousness that makes a great gift.  But in my opinion, if you really love someone you get them a whole dozen.

January 15, 2022 - Saturday - Pancake yesterday and pancakes today! These are chocolate chip pancakes with butter and syrup not the small terrier mix with scruffy coarse fur and lots of anxiety.

January 14, 2022 - Friday - She really is spoiled. For the last couple of weeks Pancake will come lay by my side while I'm working on my laptop. The moment I put it away she curls up in my lap and goes right to sleep. There's still something in her eyes that reminds me of Vegas. I sure do miss that girl.

January 13, 2022 - Thursday - Today I met a friend for lunch at our favorite pho place. In 2019 in addition to my Photo of the Day I did a pho of the day. I took a photo of every bowl of pho I had that year. My friend and I would go there sometimes two or three times a week. Today is my first pho of the year!

January 12, 2022 - Wednesday - I rarely eat any sweets other than Sparkle All Over cookies, but I had a couple croissants that needed to be eaten. I pulled out my waffle maker and some dark chocolate and started cooking, if you can call it that. These are so buttery, crispy and delicious. If you have waffle make you should make some too.

January 11, 2022 - Tuesday - Today was a really long day working. Zak is really unhappy when I don't spend any time on the couch with him. When I was finally done with work I watched a little TV to unwind. Zak jumped up next to me and went right to sleep. I felt bad waking him up a little bit late to go to bed myself.

January 10, 2022 - Monday - Today I had an appointment with my rheumatologist. It's the same doctor I've had for several years, but she's with a new practice in a new location and a bit closer to home. It was a much more relaxed appointment. I was worried it would be a long walk from the car to their office but they have a valet. Nice!

January 9, 2022 - Sunday - Just before I removed the Holiday Sampler from my friend's website I ordered a box for myself. This is the Red Velvet Dark Chocolate Chip and the Mexican Hot Chocolate. January 8, 2022 - Saturday - With all the streaming services I subscribe to this is how I ended up having to watch the Cowboy game tonight. I thought the game was tomorrow so I missed the first bit and fortunately it was a bit of a blowout so I didn't have to watch the whole game like this. I should have switched to my iPad at halftime.

January 7, 2022 - Friday - Riley went out to run some errands today. I talked her into picking up dinner for us from Tony's. I didn't have to say much more than "Tony's" to talk her in to it. I'm eating less now. I can tell because I had leftovers. The dogs love Tony's rolls too. They were just as happy as I was about dinner.

January 6, 2022 - Thursday - Today I made avocado toast for us for lunch. I say for us since the dogs each get a little bite too. It was a good break in the day.

January 5, 2022 - Wednesday - When I'm working in the evening I usually put on a movie just for background noise. I usually pick a movie I'm familiar with so when I'm not watching I can still follow along. I'm not a big fan of Woody Allen movies but I really like this one. This is Owen Wilson's best movie since Shanghai Noon.

January 4, 2022 - Tuesday - One of Riley's coworker friends is Jamaican. He gifted her a bottle of something he learned to make from his mother. Riley shared a bit of it with me tonight. It has a hibiscus, cinnamon spiciness to it. When we were in Mexico we had a drink very much like this. What a delicious drink. I need to ask Riley what it's called.

January 3, 2022 - Monday - I finally got around to watching the John Madden documentary tonight. What a life this guy has led and what an amazing legacy he leaves behind. I so glad he got to see this before he passed. I imagine it must feel something like Mom and Dad must feel when they were in the room with all the family when we used to have family gatherings.

January 2, 2022 - Sunday - I love having a really deep couch. I think Zak appreciates it as well. This is how we end most evenings. I'll lay in my usual spot and as soon as I lay down he comes over and climbs up. He eventually rolls over so I can scratch his chest. I'm glad there's enough room up here for the both of us.

January 1, 2022 - Saturday - Before I left last night we hung out on the patio for a while like we usually do. Yogi stayed with us for a bit too. I went home and went to bed later. I slept late and I didn't do much of anything. I'm glad I took this photo because I didn't take one all day. I almost had my first miss on the first day of the year.
