July 24, 2022 - Sunday - I did a photo a while back of one of the coins I had from my trip to Mexico. I was cleaning out my backpack the other day and came across the little bit of money I had left from my latest trip to Columbia. The way I was feeling today I needed something easy to photograph.

July 23, 2022 - Saturday - Today I did a bunch of stuff around the house, cleaning, laundry, etc. I was planning on grilling some burgers for us for dinner. Riley was gone most of the day so the dogs got lucky. One of me, one for Zak and one for Biscuit and Pancake to share. I toasted some buns and added cheese for them. I think we all enjoyed dinner.

July 22, 2022 - Friday - Today I met a friend and her new baby for lunch. Well the baby isn’t so new anymore but its the first time I'm meeting her. After lunch I drove out to see dad and the family out in the country. We went out to pick up some dinner and then came back and watched Pale Rider. After the movie I showed dad he could watch the Cowboy Super Bowls on YouTube.

July 21, 2022 - Thursday - This morning the girls slept in with Riley this morning so I made some toasted English muffins with Blueberry jam for Zak and I. Sometimes I think Zak would like to be an only child. I'm definitely sure Riley feels that way.

July 20, 2022 - Wednesday - Biscuit doesn’t come and lay in my lap too often, but she does walk over and whine and make all kinds of annoying noises for no reason. She stops if I pet her and starts again if I stop. She’s was pretty obnoxious when we first got her, but she’s kinda gotten over herself now that she’s a bit older.

July 19, 2022 - Tuesday - One thing Columbia didn't have was Sparkle Cookies! I picked up a little bit of ice cream the other day and put some on a Brookie, her brownie cookie. It was delicious! A little bit of chocolate syrup would have made this perfect.

July 18, 2022 - Monday - I can't believe the temperatures we've come home to. So thankful our AC is holding up. Looks like we might get a cloud floating by on Thursday. Stay inside my friends.

July 17, 2022 - Sunday - A friend called me today while I was being lazy on the couch. I stopped being lazy and went to go visit her. Her poodle looks so funny when her hair gets a bit long. She looks a little Sheep Dog-ish in the face and I don't know how she sees anything.

July 16, 2022 - Saturday - Riley had a modeling job today. She said they put a bald cap on her that was covered in gems. Her eyes were all glittery and her nails were done like this. I forgot to ask where these photos might appear but she did show me a few photos on her phone. My kid's pretty cute.

July 15, 2022 - Friday - I was out back yesterday grilling chicken and corn. I used the leftovers today for a salad for lunch. A friend showed me her Honey Balsamic vinaigrette recipe. Not too shabby.

July 14, 2022 - Thursday - This spring my arthritis wasn't cooperating and I didn't plant anything. My oregano came back on it's own and a couple of small tomato plants that haven't produced anything. I was walking past my raised garden bed and noticed this little basil plant growing. Not sure it will survive this heat but maybe I'll get some basil later in the year.

July 13, 2022 - Wednesday - Since I've been back anytime I'm on the couch Pancake comes and lays on the couch pillow behind my head. I had to lay down to get this photo of her sleeping behind me. I do selfies with her sometimes too.

July 12, 2022 - Tuesday - I meet an old friend for dinner tonight at Chuy's. I love their Jalapeño Ranch they bring out with their chips and salsa. Even more so I like the cold Pacifico they have.

July 11, 2022 - Monday - I don’t know what I did yesterday, but from the moment I woke up from my nap on the couch my back has been killing me. Riley did some shopping today and came back with lots of stuff, one was a small bottle of champaign. She gave me this glass with some. I took it to the fridge and added some OJ because I’m smart. It was medicinal.

July 10, 2022 - Sunday - Our flight landed just before dawn. When I got home Zak greeted me at the door and the first thing I did was lay on the couch with him. He was laying almost on top of me and was shaking for a long while. Pancake started crying when she first saw me. I guess Biscuit didn’t care one way or the other. It’s always nice to come home after a great vacation.

July 9, 2022 - Saturday - Our flight home was really late so we left town around 3p to take our time getting back to Bogota. We had a mishap and ended up having to backtrack a bit to pick up a passport. Fortunately our driver and his wife were really great company for the longer car ride. We still got to the airport in time to have a drink and a snack before we had to board.

July 8, 2022 - Friday - Today was the first time we had rain and it only rained for a little bit when we first got into town. By the time we finished lunch and got to the square it just overcast. There was a little, fluffy Pomeranian chasing after the pigeons. He kept them circling the square and landing on the buildings. I bet that was really fun for the dog.

July 7, 2022 - Thursday - Today I went for my last walk in the Andes. We walked up to the family’s house up the road a bit. The road leading back to my friend’s parent’s house has this huge rock on the side. He has named it Manchego Rock for obvious reasons. When you get to this rock you know you’re almost home. I'm missing Riley's birthday today.

July 6, 2022 - Wednesday - Today we took the kids zip lining. Is that the right way to say that? Anyway it was a long slow drive to get there. The last bit was a very narrow road not even wide enough for two cars. Passing was tricky. After that adventure we went back into town to have a late lunch. I took this photo on the way back home.

July 5, 2022 - Tuesday - Today before going back into town we started the day with another walk down to the river. But this time we went a bit farther. At the river we took another road uphill and found this little cafe where we took a much needed break. We got to pet some dogs there too. The walk back home really took some time. Thankful my friends didn’t mind waiting on me.

July 4, 2022 - Monday - We were told that it’s been raining here almost nonstop for three weeks. It’s been bright and sunny since we got here. Apparently I’m a little ray of sunshine. Hahahaha. Today we did some grilling (just like any other 4th) for another family get together. Almost the entire back of the house is plate glass windows to take full advantage of this view of this huge valley.

July 3, 2022 - Sunday - This morning we went for a walk in the other direction from the house. It’s a much more manageable uphill walk leaving the house and downhill all the way back home. We ended up doing this walk twice. My friend has family that lives up the street just a little bit farther than we walked the first time. The distances you can see here are amazing.

July 2, 2022 - Saturday - This morning we went for our first “walk”. The walk down to the river isn’t very far but it’s a ridiculously steep walk downhill right out the driveway and downhill all the rest of the way. That isn’t so bad though. The hard part is the whole walk back. It’s all uphill and the worst at the end. Going into town and getting a couple carafes of sangria made it all better.

July 1, 2022 - Friday - We got an early start in the hotel gym today. Then some breakfast and the drive to the town where my friend’s parents live. It’s about two and half hours to get there and the last bit is on some really twisty mountain roads. A bunch of other family met us at his parent’s for an early dinner. Their home is beautiful and the view there on the mountain is just amazing.
