June 29, 2022 - Wednesday - Today we’re leaving on vacation to Columbia. We stopped to get some gum and this was my change. For those of you who don’t know, my mom collected dimes. None of us know why, but every time any of get a dime we share a photo with the family. Since she passed I’ve only gotten a few. I guess she wanted me to know she was thinking of me on my trip.

June 28, 2022 - Tuesday - I order vitamins my from Amazon. Every time I ordered vitamins I select Centrum Mens. I reordered them the other day and these showed up. WTH? I know I'm 50+ but I wasn't prepared to make the move to these just yet.

June 27, 2022 - Monday - Today I started using my dining table for the purpose I really bought it for. I unpacked a bunch of cookies, set up my tripod, plugged in my turntable and had a little shoot here in my dining area. I have really good indirect natural light here too. This is the Lemon, Death by Chocolate and a new cookie that is one of my new favorites.

June 26, 2022 - Sunday - Does anyone else do this? On the days when I refill the dog food bin with a new bag of dog food I give all the dogs a little extra food. I like to call it bonus food day. It's only about every 3 and half weeks or so. I have a friend who said her mom would let her eat whatever she wanted on the days she would go grocery shopping. It's kinda like that.

June 25, 2022 - Saturday - I was leaving the house today when I almost stepped on this in the driveway. It was buzzing just as I walked by. It looks like it recently molted and was still drying. I kinda wanted to get a close photo of this but I was a little worried it might start flying in my face.

June 24, 2022 - Friday - I went to see my friend who makes all the delicious cookies this afternoon. We ended up meeting our other friend who lives a few doors down for a few tacos and a margarita. After I stopped by his house so traffic could die down a little. This is their corgi on a shelf.

June 23, 2022 - Thursday - I had an appointment today with my nutritionist. I avoided stopping for fast food on the way home even though I was starving. When I got home I made this for a late lunch. This turned out to be one of my better versions. The sliced tomatoes on top are from my brother's garden. And the sprinkle of cayenne pepper in the potatoes hits just right.

June 22, 2022 - Wednesday - Zak and Pancake are getting even more used to each other now. He used to freak out any time Pancake would jump on the couch near him. He was laying on my left side and Pancake jumped over his face to get to her spot on the right. He flinched but he stayed there. A little later she walk right under his chin back across the couch.

June 21, 2022 - Tuesday - I was sitting on the couch later in the day. Zak came and fell asleep next to me. I just noticed his patch of chin whiskers are quite white and spreading. In a few more years he's going to look a lot like me.

June 20, 2022 - Monday - My go-to candy at the movies is Whoppers or these. I got these when we saw Jurassic Park last week. And since I had just had a big slice of cake I only ate a few of these. I keep these leftovers on my desk and have one or two every now and again. Riley doesn't like them at all.

June 19, 2022 - Sunday - Today a bunch of family got together at my dad's house for Father's Day. My sister from NY came into town too. We had a nice, long lunch out back. A big glass of sweet tea in the shade made it just right. It was a great time seeing so much of the family and spending almost all day with Riley and Dad.

June 18, 2022 - Saturday - I wasn't feeling very well most of the day. I spent some quality time on the couch napping. I finally got up and showered later in the day to go to a friend's house for dinner. It was a great time with great people, great food and mediocre music. Two of my friend's idea of great music is highly suspect in my opinion.

June 17, 2022 - Friday - Today was a very busy day. Had some unexpected work and a late b-day lunch with a friend. Thankfully my knee is feeling even better and I was able to get some stuff done around the house too. This evening I grilled some wings and corn for Riley and I. It was really hot out and required two beers to complete the cook.

June 16, 2022 - Thursday - I've been having issues with my knee for a long while now. Yesterday I got it drained and got a steroid shot in it. This morning my first step out of bed was the first time I've been almost pain free in a long while. Theoretically it should get even better over the next few days.

June 15, 2022 - Wednesday - I froze some of the meat sauce I made the other day. Riley decided to use it with a little bit of alfredo sauce she bought. Oh my goodness. I've have had a Tortellini Bolognese from Tony's as my photo of the day I don't know how many times and this has the same vibe. It would definitely be better with a different pasta.

June 14, 2022 - Tuesday - I have a client who has a client who needs some general construction photos and prefers not to use stock photos. I'm having issues getting permission to get on these sites but have been able to get some shots from sidewalks and behind fences. I came across this site outside my friend's mom's house after dinner on Sunday.

June 13, 2022 - Monday - I met my friend from Sparkle All Over in her kitchen today. She brought one of her girls with her to help get all the baking done. Remember back in May my photo of the day was one of her experiments? Well this is another. It's got butterscotch chips, chocolate covered toffee bits, oatmeal and some other magic. It might me my second favorite of all time!!!

June 12, 2022 - Sunday - I met a friend and her daughter for "lunch". We actually just had appetizers and Linda's Fudge Cake for the main course. It was my birthday yesterday after all. We then went to see the new Jurassic Park movie. Coincidentally she and I and a few other saw the original Jurassic Park when it was first released in '93. I remember we had to sit on the 2nd row.

June 11, 2022 - Saturday - After brunch with Riley I went to a memorial for my Uncle Rick. Like me at one point, he was the youngest in his family, had no kids but lots of nieces and nephews. I didn't know it then but he was showing me how to be a cool, fun uncle. I don't think I am or was nearly as good at it as he was but I hope my nieces and nephews think of me like I think of him.

June 10, 2022 - Friday - I made a big pan of meat sauce today so we could have spaghetti for dinner. I was watching a chef from some fancy restaurant in Rome make his version on YouTube. I used some of his tricks and I have to say this is the best red sauce I've ever made. Riley had some for dinner. Later I caught her eating out of the pan before I put the leftovers away.

June 9, 2022 - Thursday - Today I got to have lunch with a friend I don't get to see too often, unfortunately. I got an early birthday present too. She has a blackberry bush in her yard and she made me a couple of jars of Blackberry Jam. Well I guess she made a bunch but she gave me a couple of jars. I hope they come with free refills!

June 8, 2022 - Wednesday - I went to run a few errands today. There's a new bakery next to where I get my hair cut and since I had a little time to kill before my appointment I went in. They have a Almond Chocolate Croissant that's really tasty. I had a Topo Chico with it. I like the bubbles.

June 7, 2022 - Tuesday - I was out running errands this morning and when I parked my car I looked up and saw this. The car in front of me has a Guinea Pig on their dashboard too. What are the odds? I don't know why but I had to go to the DMV just to renew my license. It was quick and painless. Shocker!!!

June 6, 2022 - Monday - I order groceries today and among the item on my list we're Oreo ice cream sandwiches. I've been craving an ice cream sandwish for a long while. I asked Riley if she wanted anything and she wanted drumsticks. The instacart shopper couldn't find the sandwiches but found these. I guess we both get a little of what we want.

June 5, 2022 - Sunday - I was looking for something in my glovebox of the car. I forgot my dad gave me this a while back. It belonged to my Grandfather. It's a really old measuring stick. I don't think it's called a ruler and it's not a measuring tape, but it flips out and unfolds to measure up to 24 inches. It is now a desk accessory.

June 4, 2022 - Saturday - This makes my heart happy and gives me hope. Zak was lying here with me for a while and Pancake jumped up and over me lay right here next to me too. Zak got a little worried for a bit but after a little bit he was asleep too. I can't believe Pancake not only got close but is actually touching Zak.

June 3, 2022 - Friday - A friend from Austin came in to town this weekend. She called and invited me to dinner. We met at Fireside Pies. This is probably my favorite pizza. It's their Tomato Pie and is made with no sauce, just fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto on a rosemary crust. We had a salad first and dessert after.

June 2, 2022 - Thursday - I ran some errands today. One of them was getting my car inspected. The last time I got my oil changed they  put the current millage on the sticker instead of the millage I needed to get it changed. I drive most times only once a week or so there was no way I had gone 3000 miles in a month.

June 1, 2022 - Wednesday - I don't remember what I did today but I know by the time I took this I realized I had only take photos of my meal for my food log and there was nothing interesting in any of it. I looked over at the end of the evening and thought Biscuit was having a rare cute moment.
